Ive been itching to draw them in ugly Christmas sweaters! ngl not happy with this one at all, I was rushing to finish it because it took so long and I was starting to feel sick towards the end. next prompt has me stumped and since this one took so long, I may not do anything crazy tomorrow, but we'll see.
Also not sketch this time my layers were CRAZY, and I don't think I can put the sketch back together rip

Day 20 for @vldtenyearanniversaryfest is “personal fix it,” and would you be surprised that the found family-centric whump blog would fix it by adding more found family content…..
Man, I just want them to be a better found family. I can make them that way in fic all day long, but I still want canon to give them that tooooooo. I see the Tumblr posts, and they’re all right. Give me Shiro who had dinner with the Holts once a week after landing on the same mission assignment as Matt and Sam, who knew Pidge and recognized them immediately because how could he not? I want Adam who tried to take care of Keith in Shiro’s absence but ultimately couldn’t force a friendship in the ruins of that relationship with Keith blaming him for hurting Shiro right before his big mission. Show me Lance and Hunk being actual friendssssssss. Allura and Coran, the last of their race and doing what they can to build ties with these aliens they’re growing to love.
I’m just saying, imagine your found family is so weak that one of them decides the best thing he can do is to leave it for the Blade… I just think these people should’ve been allowed to love each other more.
Day 20: Personal fix-it @vldtenyearanniversaryfest
I had a hard time choosing between fixing Lotor or finishing Lances character arc/development, but Lances dropped character arc bothered me more so here it is! I wanna yap about what's going on in this drawing but I first wanna mention how the Voltron fandom is starting to revive itself, mostly on the hell site that is twitter (or X idc) and honestly I'm not against the fandom coming back it would be fun! unfortunately, it still seems like people want to fight about ships and its stupid because it's been like 10 years now, we're too old for this shit X<X
this post is getting bit long, so I'll try to keep this short! Lances arc would start the same, feeling like the 8th wheel, he would try to find his place on the team as a sharpshooter and when he feels like he isn't able to keep up with his teammates as sharpshooter he would then get switched to being the red paladin, getting the red bayard, swapping his gun for a sword.
Lance would get worst, and during the season 7 space road trip, he would try to butt heads with Keith like he did in season 1 because of his insecurity, But Keith and Lance have changed since then and Keith won't butt heads back, instead he tries to talk to Lance and this would only drive Lance away
Eventually there's a fight between the paladins and an enemy where Keith and Lance are separated and finally get to have a one on one and Keith reassures Lance that he will never be an 8th wheel. Then they go reunite with the team and save the day power of friendship style.
AAAaa- I'm so proud of this one! I wanted to try out a different style, and I think it looks neat :3 I kind of thought it was both interesting and terrifying how often Shiro changes throughout the show and how most of it happens against his will, but I also thinks that's what makes him such a good character, cause he just keeps going.
Just colored in some sketches this prompt. I had fun with this prompt though (gender swaps are always fun) I found Pidge and Allura's to be the hardest, I coudlnt find a way to add pink into Allura's design since I took inspo from her dads' design when he was younger, and Pidge has a bit of an androgynous design but you were meant to think she was a girl so I made the clothes a bit more flowy so it comes off as slightly feminine but doesn't stray too far from the OG design, for everyone else nothing changed much other than the hair which feels kinda lazy but I had fun so it doesn't matter! (Hunk and Keith are my favorites!!)
I wanted to do something simple for this prompt cause I'm running out of ideas. I wanted them to be doing a little cheer but idk if I got the idea across well, maybe I should redo it when the 30 days is up? idk :P
Today is @vldtenyearanniversaryfest day five, and ngl I struggled with what to do for today! Not because I don't know what my fave vld ship is---obviously that is sheith---but because so many of my other prompt days are sheith fills, I didn't know what I wanted to do for The Sheith Day.
So I decided instead I'd just talk about how and why I like them!
A fun fact I've shared before but that not everyone might know is that I actually went into vld PRIMED and ready to like klance. A fave author from my homestuck days, @qpenguin98, had flipped from johndave to klance before I ever watched the show, and I'd skimmed some of their fics. So, naturally, I assumed that since we had such similar tastes in homestuck ships, I'd follow suit when I joined vld. Not the case. The NANOSECOND I saw Keith gently turn Shiro's unconscious face and tear down his handkerchief so he could whisper his name with wonder and distress I knew I was gone. Then they had their touching little reunion on the mound outside Keith's shack in the sunrise and Oh Boy Oh Boy.
I love the trust between them. How Keith doesn't trust ANYONE initially but he does trust Shiro. How Shiro tries to shoulder the entire world on his shoulders (like atlas, one might say) but he allows Keith to take care of him and watch out for him. How Keith never hesitates when Shiro is in trouble and, to quote, would save him "as many times as it takes." How neither of them ever give up on the other, no matter how dire the straits or how hopeless the circumstances may seem. I love the homoerotic shoulder touching. I love the black/white motifs. I love the sunshine/raincloud. I love how Allura and Hunk and even Lance and Pidge had bad reactions to learning Keith was half Galra but Shiro, who'd been kidnapped, enslaved, disfigured, and tortured by the Galra, never treated Keith differently or even doubted for a moment that that was still his best friend.
I love how we get to watch their relationship develop over years. We get flashbacks to when they were two punk teens (just one of them better at hiding it than the other) being friends and watching out for each other in ways they both desperately needed at the time. We get to see Keith supporting Shiro at his lowest points post-abduction and we get to see Shiro be the calm and steady hand that guides Keith. We get to see them fight alongside one another as brothers in arms. And we get to see them fall slowly and undeniably in love as the show progresses, their relationship and their care and respect and trust for each other blooming into something deep and abiding.
Day 16: Royalty/ Cultural differences @vldtenyearanniversaryfest
Something simple to recover from the monster that was yesterday's prompt! This one is based on an AU concept I cooked up in a day.
The idea is that Allura and Lotor met when they were kids and slowly stopped seeing each other as things got worst, when Zarkon blows up Altea he believes Allura is dead and to cope with her loss and the loss of Altea, he gathers all the surviving Alteans to keep from Zarkon and try to preserve what's left of Altea. The AU doesn't have Lotor sucking magic juice out of anyone so good for him, I don't have much else to say about this AU but the reason I think it's interesting is because it gives a way to explore Lotors relationship with Altea and his guilt about his dad blowing it up, and if Lotor is a good person like Allura, or is more like his dad, idk angst n shit, I was having fun with it :3
Day 15: A scene you connected with @vldtenyearanniversaryfest
Long art incoming! (I had to cut it up so it would fit rip) I hope this fits the prompt cause I feel I'm on thin ice lol. I couldn't choose just one scene, so I did a handful of scenes and a handful of lines from different scenes to highlight what I love about Shiro and Keiths relationship in the show (I'll yap abt that below the cut) I had a lot of fun sketching and even lining but I wish I did a bit better? (Coloring is hard)
Anyways this cost me 2 all nighters and now it's time to play catchup so I can post tomorrow!

I'll try to keep this as short as I can since I'm bad with words and I don't want to drag this out. I think what makes Shiro and Keiths relationship so good to me is the fact that they're there for each other, which sounds kinda boring, but the show does it so well.
When Shiro meets Keith for the first time Keith is at his lowest and Shiro decides to help him even when Keith steals his car even when he starts fights, he doesn't have to help Keith, he isn't responsible for him, but he sees Keith struggling and helps him, supports him. This means the world to Keith, he has no family, no friends, no one believes he's more than a problem to be ignored or scolded. But his life is changed when Shiro sees him as a person, and he pays his kindness back.
When Shiro is at his worst, which I think is during the show, Keith is there. When he goes missing, he searches, when the Garrison doesn't believe him, he rescues him, when everyone believes he's dead Keith searches, again. And when Shiro isn't himself, when he's telling Keith what everyone has told him his entire life, Keith still chooses to be there. Keith never gives up on Shiro because Shiro never gave up on him and I love that!

This is part 2 to day 11 which was a few prompts ago so I'm finally happy to have this one out finally! It's a bit on the simple side but I like the glowy effect. The next prompt will be big so I'm starting to fall behind which means more all nighters yaaaaay :'] but I'll catch up, I REALLY don't want to fall behind
