Prefect’s Bathroom. Midnight.
PAIRING: Cedric Diggory x Potter!fem!reader
WARNINGS: fluff, kissing, sort of established relationship, mutual pinning.
SUMMARY: Cedric slips you a note in class, which leads to the both of you sneaking out at midnight.
The note appeared during Potions.
You were copying down the instructions from the board when a small folded piece of paper slid quietly onto your desk. You glanced around, expecting one of your classmates to be giggling, but everyone seemed to be focused on their own work.
Slowly, you unfolded it. The handwriting was neat and familiar.
“Prefects’ bathroom. Midnight.
—Cedric”
A smile immediately tugged at your lips as you looked across the dungeon. Cedric sat with the other Hufflepuffs, listening carefully to Professor Snape as though he hadn’t just sent you a note in the middle of class. It was almost unfair how effortlessly he could act innocent while your heart was still racing from the message.
As if he could feel your eyes on him, he glanced over, giving you one of his signature smiles before looking back down at his notes.
You and Cedric never exactly announced anything, but being Harry Potter’s sister meant that things had a way of becoming everyone’s business. Everyone noticed the way Cedric always looked at you like you hung the stars, how you somehow always ended up beside him whenever there was a free seat, and how he never failed to walk you to class, making sure to carry all your books while still always having a free hand to hold yours.
By midnight, Hogwarts had fallen into its natural silence. You slipped through the corridors, your footsteps softly echoing against the stone floors. When you reached the prefects’ bathroom, the door was slightly open.
Cedric stood near the edge of the water, his sleeves rolled slightly up his arms, giving you a soft smile. Steam rose from the tub, drifting through the salty air, carrying traces of the sweet vanilla soap.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he said, holding out his arms, inviting you into them.
“You know, you could have just said you missed me,” you teased as you walked toward him.
A soft laugh escaped his lips.
“Well, I certainly do.”
Your cheeks grew warm as he wrapped his arms around your waist before leaning in to press soft kisses just below your jaw, enough to make you gasp. Cedric looked up at you, a smile spreading across his face.
You took the time to gently tug at the hair near the nape of his neck and close the distance between the two of you. His lips were warm, and there was a familiar trace of peppermint and coffee that lingered. With every passing second, the kiss grew more and more desperate. His tongue nudged gently at your bottom lip, asking for permission, which you gladly gave by parting your lips, only making the kiss sloppier.
Your fingers tangled in his thick hair as he let out a low hum against your lips. His hand roamed up the inside of your once-tucked-in shirt. You groaned before pulling away with more restraint than you usually managed.
“Ced,” you whispered, your voice breathless. “As much as I’d love to stay here all night, I do have exams in the morning.”
Cedric looked down at you, his lips still swollen and glossy, a protesting look on his face.
“And Harry would kill me if he found out about this.”
Cedric laughed softly, his thumb brushing up and down your waist.
“Probably a wise decision.”
“Probably?”
He smirked.
“I’m just saying, I think it was worth it.”
“Same time tomorrow?” he added jokingly.
You rolled your eyes, poking his chest.
“Don’t push your luck, Diggory.”
He laughed quietly before pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead, lingering just a moment before whispering in your ear.
“Whatever you say, love.”
You shook your head, trying not to smile too much.
“Goodnight, Cedric.”
“Good night,” he replied, watching you leave with a content smile on his face.
