sooo… we’re starting to get some real traction on tumblr.
even though i’ve been transparent from the start that the media on this account is AI generated, i’m both genuinely excited and quietly terrified about what happens once that realization really lands. tumblr has a strong culture around process, authorship, and ethics; i respect that deeply, but it also makes me nervous.
this project has always been an experiment. not a provocation, not a bait-and-switch, and not an attempt to pass AI off as something it isn’t. it’s an exploration of AI as a tool for ideation, mockups, world-building, and concept creation; especially for artists who have strong vision but limited resources.
i know some people will feel disappointed when they realize AI is involved. a lot of the fear around AI is legitimate, and i’m not here to dismiss those concerns or argue anyone out of their feelings. i also know there’s an assumption that using AI means someone lacks skill, intent, or originality; that isn’t true for me, as the ideas and designs behind this brand are all my own, but i understand why that belief exists, and i think it’s worth talking about.
a big part of why i’m doing this is to see if i can help shift the conversation around AI, even slightly; especially for younger creatives who may only be encountering AI through fear-based or all-or-nothing narratives. i’m interested in showing what’s possible when AI is used transparently and intentionally by creative professionals; as an extension of a creator's vision, not a replacement for artists, and not a shortcut around thought or taste.
i don’t expect everyone to agree, and i don’t need universal approval. curiosity, discomfort, disagreement; all of that is part of how creative culture evolves. if this sparks honest conversation about boundaries, ethics, and where AI fits (or doesn’t fit) into creative workflows, then the experiment is already doing what i hoped it would. ♡
