So maybe it isn’t ideal, and if she was trekking through the muddy snow with Gale, Katniss probably would be grumbling about the sloppy terrain just as much as Darius is. But his petulant pout amuses her, and she’s never missed an opportunity to tease him before, so why would she leave him in peace now?

”It’s not like there’s a second option, and I did warn you about dressing properly. We’ve got h o u r s to go yet.”

[ Who was he kidding? He was whining. The cold was now starting to get to him, and most of all, it was reminding him of when he first settled here. Horrible really, and the pout on his face is only getting worse as Katniss continues to speak. He'd take the shoes off if they got any worse. It'd just mean a little more cold on his part, and possibly a flu on his part. ]

[ He's never seen himself as someone that was able to get on with Gale. Gale was dark, brooding and a lot of people seemed to like him. Darius was just... well, Darius. There was nothing specila about him. He was just flirty. Slipping off the sodden shoes, Darius tosses them beside him. He could deal with a little bit of clod, plus the fire back at his would warm him up ]

"Don't call me Buttercup unless you wanna get hit."

"I should probably be going back."

[ It feels strange, in a way, being out with someone that Darius was sure didn't like him. The Peacekeepers had been everywhere since the Capitol had gotten rid of Cray, and being out here, skinning various animals was something that Darius felt like he needed to do. Thread was over bearing, painfully awkward, and someone that Darius couldn't stand. But he still felt like he had to do a job. He was authority first and foremost. A Peacekeeper, someone that should've been feared, but he wasn't. 90% of District 12 knew Darius, and 90% of them were friends with him. ]

"Thread wont exactly like me being over here."

[ If he finds out. It's not like Darius would open up about it, he never does talk to the others all that much, but he knows the new members don't like him, and he has to deal with that. ]

[ The snow in the area had gotten to the point of being slush, and it's soaking through the shoes that Darius has on. The expression on his face is something of a child who's stood in something. It's not the nicest of places he's been. Darius likes it, though. It reminds him of his mother, and how she would bring him out to catch food.]

"I don't get how you two can do this constantly. Especially with the slop around here."
