Everytime I see one of those red string of fate au fics it makes me think of that one chengxian fic in which wwx was unhealthily obsessed with jc and since he was the only one who could see the strings, he decided to take fate into his own hands and cut the strings that tied him and jc to their original soulmates and tied the strings around each other’s fingers instead so that he and jc were forced to become soulmates.

All this without jc’s knowledge of course, otherwise it’s not chengxian lol 👍
