             it was around one am when noah’s phone started buzzing in his pocket, he pulled it out to find a text from his best friend’s girlfriend asking him to come to pick her up at the party she was at. his friend was out of town for the next few days, and although she was not his responsibility, the male couldn’t help but worry about her, maybe a little too much. not that he could help himself. the male had been attracted to her since the first time hazel brown hues settled on her that same evening he would never forget.but milo had approached her first, he always did. pushing himself off the couch, he reached for his car keys on the coffee table and headed out the door. it didn’t take him long to get there. once outside, he sent her a quick text message to let her know he was there. “is everything alright?” the male questioned, strong eyebrows furrowing slightly at the sight of the familiar figure.

after a little too much to drink she had hit that wall and she knew she just needed to get home but with her boyfriend out of town she wasn’t exactly sure who to call. scrolling through her contacts she landed on noah,.. she paused for a few moments contemplating whether it was the right choice or not. finally, she thought fuck it and called him and to her surprise he agreed to come and get her. a relieved smile covered her features as she got the text, making her way to his car she climbed in. “i’m alright yeah.. i just needed to get out of there. i just suddenly didn’t want to be there,” she shrugged as she shifted her gaze over him. “thank you for this, it means a lot to me.. i just didn’t know who else to call...”

“I am calm.” He was, in fact, not. How could he be? Her ex was a lowlife, dirty piece of scum. Still, he forced a cool expression on his face, swallowing the rage. He’d never hurt her. No matter how angry he was or how badly he wanted to run his fist through a wall. “I just don’t understand why you even went to see him? You know he’s toxic. He’s not good for you, right? What happened?” Nate forced the accusing tone from his mouth, replacing it with a compassion not many people often were lucky enough to see.

a heavy sigh left her lips, she knew him well enough to know that he was anything but calm, she didn’t want him to be upset with her but she also couldn’t lie to him ; hence why she was open about the encounter she had. light eyes flickered towards him, arms folding over her chest ; as much as she wanted she couldn’t keep her eyes on him, she was embarrassed about the answer she was about to give, “--- i can’t say no to him and it’s pathetic and no excuse...” she paused teeth sinking into her lower lip, “i’m just scared of him... scared of what will happen the day i do say no.” it’s not like allison would cheat on nate, she may run up to the line but she would never cross it. “nothing happened... he was just telling me he was sorry and that we should try again and i told him i had moved on...”

it was always the same. they would hurt her in some way and then leave for a few weeks, maybe months only for them to come back and apologize. each and every time she would forgive and forget because she truly loved them but this time she vowed for it to be different. stray tears strolled down her cheeks as she tried to avoid their gaze, not wanting to give in. they were saying all the right things, her chest felt tight almost making it hard to breathe. “--- i don’t think i can tell you what you want to hear. not this time.”

“i just wish everyone could believe that i truly loved him.... instead they all think i’m unaffected by his death,” she paused shoulders sinking, it broke her heart knowing what everyone thought. she was such a people pleaser. marielle understood where he was coming from and she wanted to be happy, to rid of the loneliness, of course she had to fall for finley and somehow make her love life more complicated. inhaling deeply she tried to push aside everyone else and focus on what she wanted ; what she felt and in the process tried to remind herself that none of this changed how she had felt about her husband. her thumb absentmindedly played with her wedding ring, the one she hadn’t been able to take off yet, “he always wanted the best for me and if you are someone that believes everything happens for a reason then maybe i could believe that you are best for me...” her voice was barely above a whisper as she leaned forward and rested her head on his chest, arms snaking around his torso. “how long have you felt like this...?”

"when you were given the opportunity to pursue your dreams, you simply looked so happy. simply put, it appeared that i wasn’t the number one reason behind your happiness. i decided to move on since i saw you performing and living your dream, which led me to assume that as long as you were doing that you could be happy with anyone.” he had always been open and unafraid to speak the truth, even if it meant hurting someone. he truly believed that as long as callan was pursuing his dreams, he could be happy with anyone. he sighed; he was beginning to get a little upset since it seemed like they were going back and forth without actually solving their problem. "so callan, what do you want me to do?” his voice went up a notch since he was sure that his boyfriend, who was in the adjacent room, would now hear him if he hadn’t before. “you want me to walk in there and end my relationship. it is not that easy.” he shook his head mentally, pleading with himself to hold back the tears as he saw callan brush away a couple. "i don’t want to shatter his heart because he loves me so much. i know what it’s like to have a broken heart, and i wouldn’t want to subject another person to similar suffering.” as he watched callan approach, his fists clinched at his side; he was on the verge of losing it. right up until callan said his next phrase, he was doing ok. he yelled, "because I love you!” with the knowledge that freddie had probably heard him, and despite his best efforts to avoid it, he had crushed a person’s heart. as he continued, he softened his voice. “i want to try because of that. despite the fact that i’m dating someone else, my heart is not with him. i’ve tired really hard to love him, but my heart has always belonged to you.” he leaned forward till their foreheads were in contact and felt the warmth of the others hand on his cheek. he wasn’t aware that he had started crying in the previous few seconds. "please don’t walk away again callan. i doubt that I could handle that situation again. i need you more than i have ever needed anyone in my life.”

“no person should be the source of anyone’s happiness, that is too much pressure to put on someone but... you brought out the best in me, made me feel things i can’t describe and yes i was over the moon to be following my dreams and not only was i following them but i was successful. ---- none of that means i didn’t wish you were there, that i didn’t think about all the things i would have done differently...” he trailed off as he gave his head a small shake, he had a lot of regrets and now he felt as though he was paying the price, that maybe he had lost the love of his life. the male couldn’t help but let out a frustrated groan, palm resting on his forehead, “no. i don’t want that. i’m just... i’m trying to explain. none of this makes any fucking sense because you want to see if there is something there still, you tell me i’m like a stranger but i’m not allowed to truly show you the extent of my feelings, to see if that spark is still there because you are taken. you are off limits.” he didn’t want to get overly worked up about all of this, it was a delicate situation and callan knew it could only end with people getting hurt which wasn’t what he wanted. hell if he knew that trevone had moved on maybe he wouldn’t of come back. he would’ve just broken the promise and stayed away. it would’ve made everything a lot simpler. his next words hit a nerve and callan wasn’t about to hide that, “you don’t think my heart is broken? that i didn’t feel pain... i’m far from heartless. i know what it feels like to have a broken heart and you weren’t my first heart break. maybe my first romantic heart break...” he was mentally cursing himself for opening up something he wasn’t ready to dive into. closing his eyes for a moment, he needed to compose himself and think about all of this, the words trevone uttered were replaying in his mind over and over. “i love you. i do.... listen to what you are saying babe. if you don’t love him then you know what you have to do and i’m not saying this to benefit me. you know it’s not fair to keep seeing him if he doesn’t have your heart especially when you hold his...” he didn’t want to overstep, it wasn’t his place but after trevone’s admission he couldn’t stay silent on it. arms wrapped around the males torso, holding him close, “---- i won’t. if you don’t want me to go then i won’t.”

“ thank you for being patient and understanding. ” the brunette seems to bring out the best in atlas, he was never one to express genuine feelings to other people, especially a female. hands securely on her waist, a smile creeping up his lips from the way billie speaks so carefree about skating. “ annoyingly but i will never fall on my ass. that’s for sure. ” boosting himself, even if he does not have a clue how to skate. the closest thing to sport he ever did as a child was shoot guns and lift weights, although he mostly excel in everything he does. this would be a peace of cake. “ c’mon, i’d love to see you on ice. would you be wearing those tight dress that i like so much? the once you use for competition? ” eyebrow raising in a suggestive manner, hands sliding down and resting on top of her ass giving it a light squeeze. not caring if they were in fact still in public . he might as well have a good time while at it. 

“you’re just lucky i love you,” she replied with a small chuckle, partly a joke ; partly serious because she wasn’t known as the patient type. this was all new territory for her. arms slid around his neck as she glanced up at him sweetly, “we will see about that... i’m going to laugh so hard,” she teased giving him a small nudge with her hip. the brunette was beaming from just hearing him tell her that he would love to see her on the ice, that meant the world to her because it was her passion. that one thing she loved more than anything else and she wanted to share that part of her life with him. “no baby... they are reserved for competitions and well our nights,” she teased with a small shake of her head as a blush appeared on her cheeks. “are you going to skate in your underwear because well you know how much i love seeing you in almost nothing...” she murmured as her hands slipped under his shirt, fingertips tracing over his bare skin.

it wouldn’t have been a bad thing to see her doing good, thriving and happy with what she worked hard for. even if it was without him but the confession gave him relief. even if it made her dependent on him. atlas couldn’t seem to let go of the vixen no matter how much he fucks up, he just can’t seem to get away. “ i love you more. i’ve been better, business kept me busy. i got a lot going on as of the moment. ” and it was true. he did everything to be buried into work, evading intrusive thoughts of blair. it was painful to. “ is there anything i can do for you? are you alright? ” concerned as to why she called out of the blue. surprised that she even kept his contact after what had transpired. they didn’t have the most healthiest of relationship and running back to each other seems to be a source of comfort – for him at least.

she wished that she could’ve been happier without him except she just felt empty without him. like a part of her was missing. from a young age the dark haired female had learnt from a young age to be strong and independent ---- she wasn’t good at it. “baby.. don’t keep lying to me,” she whispered not completely sure she wanted him to hear those words, deep down blair knew he couldn’t love her more or he wouldn’t have done the things he had. “being busy isn’t always a bad thing.. sorry that things haven’t been that great for you,” she was genuine too because while she was hurting and didn’t want him to be happier without her ; she wanted the best for him. “you already know i’m not alright... i was just calling because the suspense was killing me. you said you needed time which i can respect but it’s been like a month and i just wanted to know where you were at...” she trailed off and anxiously chewed at her lower lip, “is there any hope for us?”
