Here is an attempted :,) landscape drawing submitted to a children’s book contest on Youth Inspired Publishing. I uploaded this piece to be the cover of the book or the cover of a chapter in the book. The book is called “Hidden Hollow Five Series: The Secret of Annabelle” (Book One) By James R. Lewis. First Confrontation. After being able to successfully infiltrate the SEP base, Phoenix runs into an enemy. Both are on high alert. Neither recognize who the other person is... so much time has passed. Phoenix attempts to look for a way out, whether it’s by running or attacking. The enemy however, without a blink gives off a warning shot, grazing her arm. She stays on the defense and decides to wait as the pain in her arm grows. The enemy calls in the intruder to center control to be located in the storage facility. The alarms go off as the red lights start to blare, filling the room in a red wash. Phoenix is now cornered. What can she do? How will she escape? Doesn’t she realize the person in front of her is the person she’s been looking for all along? BAM! Here is my new piece :) I like the vibe it gives off with the two characters staring each other down as the red light fills the room. There is a clear tension between them, but also a lost connection. Day 3 of speedpaint week!!! :b Here is a speedpaint of Phoenix, the sister to River/Kyle (from my previous speedpaint). She was my first official original character that I have stuck with and brought to life in animation :) Watch as I come up with inspiration from real life references and even reference from the Scott Pilgrim comics as I create her. Swimming Koi Fish. You rest upon the cool, soft grass and stare up into the starry night sky. You slowly start to drift off to sleep, that is until you feel a sudden looming presence. You open your eyes and look up to the sky. There, you see two massive Koi fish flying...rather swimming in the dark and sparkled mass that is the starry night sky. Yet despite their size, you aren’t intimidated. Rather you are soothed by their movements as they circle around one another in a lovely dance. Your eyes begin to shut once more as the Koi fish seem to vanish, away from your sight. Where could they have gone? Here’s a piece done for class, studying surreal landscapes. “Phoenix and Miké were having a short rest stop when Phoenix awakes in a cold sweat. That’s when they hear a loud boom nearby. Scared of who it might be, she suggests that they should leave ASAP. That is until she was cut short by a mysterious figure appearing. Miké growls in defense and Phoenix reaches for her weapon at hand.” Featuring a short comic following the story line of “Two Lives”. Here is a character sheet for Phoenix’s brother River, now named Kyle. He has no memories of his past or who Phoenix is. He only focuses on becoming the best of the best cadets in the Seriq Extermination Program (SEP). Even while being a Seriq himself, he has turned against his own kind and on anyone who defends for the Seriqs. His eyes show a tired and exhausted look and he almost never smiles. Instead he is very stern, even with his peers.
