This guy was a pioneer. He established the standard and quality of what Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid music should be like. He proved with Melt ALONE that Vocaloid wasn't just a toy but something that could genuinely be used professionally and seriously.

Like WE as Vocaloid fans should be thanking this guy, even if we don't like his music. The Michael Jordan of Vocaloid. What a GOAT.

Thinking about it again and honestly? The term "Blast Processing" is so absolutely ridiculous to me, years after first hearing it and learning the truth about it.

For those not in the know, Blast Processing is a marketing term SEGA of America used to advertise their then newest console, the Genesis (or MegaDrive, for literally everyone else).

While the Genesis was the fastest home console on the market at the time (even after the SNES released), the term isn't actually a widely recognized one. Not an industry standard term. Just some marketing buzzword so Sega could make the Genesis sound cool. And only SOA used it. If you asked a Japanese SEGA employee about "blast processing", they'd probably look at you sideways.

It's a lot like the term "medical grade", or "it's toasted", because the specific aspect of the Genesis' CPU that "blast processing" is Direct Memory Access. In super simple terms, it allowed the Genesis to display more colorful graphics quickly. The issue? It used up all of the CPU. So it ended up never being used in the first place!

The term was so bogus that the guy who came up with it, Scott Bayless, ended up APOLOGIZING a decade ago (Oh god 2015 was a decade ago.) for making the term 😭 That is wild.
