Plan Ahead- picking out your outfit for the next day (better yet, planning for the whole week!) will save you time and ease your stress the morning you wake up. Planning ahead has the benefit of giving you extra time to carefully pick out the cutest coordinates and accessories. You wont be hastily throwing pieces together in the morning!

Shower Time- skip this if you shower at night! Shower time will relax you and ease any stress you may have about mornings. Be careful not to take too long though, using music as an indicator of time is great, and picking upbeat songs gets you thinking positive!

Eat right- a good breakfast and a glass of water/tea is a great start to the day. You don’t want to ruin your mood with a hungry stomach!

Magical Makeup!- This is your time to shine!~ Now you get to transform into a living doll~ Make sure you give yourself enough time in the morning to put on your makeup comfortably and not be rushed. But don’t worry if it is not perfect, just be sure to wear it with confidence!

Positive Dolly Thoughts- On your way to school/work, say positive things to yourself. "Today I really like my outfit", “I think I look super cute today”, “Today will be a good day”, “I’m excited to meet up with my friends” and so on :) This will set a positive mood, and give you confidence in your dolly wear~

Take Baby Steps

If showing up in class one day with full dolly attire is making you nervous, start small. Start with some clothing pieces, then slowly progress with your makeup. Doing a slow change lets you dip your feet in the water and get comfortable before diving in!

Compliment Yourself

Look at yourself in the mirror and compliment yourself. If you feel good about yourself, your confidence will rise. Say things like “my wig looks really cute today”, “My eyes look so pretty with these lenses”, “My outfit is spot on!”, and “I’m proud of myself for dressing dolly to go out today”. Every time you feel the need to say something bad about yourself or doubt yourself, say something positive in return.

Take Note of your Body Language

If you are feeling uncomfortable in dolly, it will show. Know that you are beautiful and deserve to take up space. If you identify as a living doll I assume it’s because the style makes you happy, let everyone else see that! Keep your head held high, make sure you are not slumping over, give a smile~

Selfie Time

Take selfies because you can. Collect your favourite selfies. post them online if you want. They should be liberating and a celebration of yourself. Take the time to admire your selfies and feel good about your self.

Keep Positive when Receiving Bad Attention

The living doll style sometimes attracts onlookers and immature comments. The best weapon against these people is positivity. My favourite trick is to look back at them and smile. If you get sad or angry, it will feed their desire to upset you. Remember that you are a beautiful human being who is free to express yourself however you want. There’s no time for haters!

Join a Positive Doll Community

Talking to other people with similar interests and struggles that will support you is very important. Your doll community should be positive and give you a sense of belonging. They should lift you up and help give you confidence! You are not alone!

Hey there! Finally back with a new guide~ how exciting :) Let’s get started!!~

Makeup is a key component to the living doll look, but what does one need? Where does one start? Fear no more! here is a list of items you will want to add to your dolly arsenal ^-^

Basic

Concealer

Foundation (Tarabee recommends: tinted BB cream, helps take care of your skin too~ but has lighter coverage)

Neutral eye shadow palette

Mascara (Tarabee recommends: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara)

Blush

Lip Tint (Tarabee recommends: TheFaceShop Milky Tint)

Brushes: foundation, eye shadow, blending, blush

After you have built a good base of basic makeup items, you can expand and get creative with eye shadow colours and lip colours.

Advanced

These items will definitely enhance your dolly look, but some take lots of time and practice to perfect.

Hello my friend I am sorry for the late response! :O

Truthfully, none of us admins dress in a masculine (or, stereotypically masculine) way so this is a difficult question for us to answer. I wasn’t sure where to look, but I know that Lolita fashion often crosses over into Dolly Fashion, so I thought I’d start there, and I was able to find THIS GUIDE, so I hope that this is at least close to what you were looking for?

Also, for makeup, you might try looking into cosplay makeup for male characters to get that flawless but masculine look. You might also modify some tutorials meant for a feminine look. Brown shades and smudgy eyeliner tends to look more masculine than black eyeliner and clean lines, but try experimenting.

I’m going to take a moment to remind you all that there is no “One” particular way to be a Living Doll. We’ve received an anon who had some confusion about that (I won’t be posting the ask because it’s unnecessary) so I thought that it was time for a remind.

You DON’T have to be pale, you DON’T have to have a heart shaped face, you DON’T have to be skinny/small, you DON’T have to have long hair or anything like that.

Being a Living Doll is a fashion/lifestyle choice and ANYONE can wear/be it!
