I put part of 4 works which all have fascinating or colourful dot points together and generate a new work. The colour of these 4 piece of different work happen to match with each other as well, the final work gives me a feeling of something cultural.
4 works:
Vault of Wonder(2017) Lindy Lee
Gail Hastings
#77(Insominia/JOseph Goldstein’s Dharma Talks)(2017) Elizabeth Pulie
The Alien and Crop Circle(2017) Tim Johnson

The author of this artwork (Untitled(WYVP)(2017) Huseyin Sami)always aims to work intentionally in order to let the works make themselves, so I tried to do something similar as well. I tried to follow the drape of this work and draw without really seeing my paper. Also, the author was trying to do material investugation by this work, so I use four things with different texture to simulate his work and see how things goes. I can feel the slight difference between different texture and the process the author might have been.
Accessment one statement
Point, line and space
I was inspired by the flexible spaghetti (when it meets water) we used at class. I wanted to do experiments on the way to represent the shape of a box, using points, lines and space(or planes), It's from the concept I learned from pencil sketching, it says that when we drawing things, we use points to produce lines, planes and in the end we produce a space.
I thought one cube box would be too simple, so I made several boxes and stuck them together to make a random shape, since it will be more of a challenge or more interesting to represents the shape.
Space: I started from the easiest one: using plastic wrap to represent my boxes which made the boxes look more vague in order to represent it as a more conceptual thing.
Line: Afterwards, I bought some flexible aluminum wire and bended it along the side of the boxes. I bended it irregularly to make it look more interesting. So I transformed the boxes into aluminum lines.(The aluminum wire is a bit too flexible and easy to break so I used two paperboard to keep it in place. I need to choose materials more wisely next time. It can bring troubles.)
Point: Lastly, I managed to use tiny balls to represent the shape. I firstly decide to slightly watering on my box to make random spot and circles them in pencil, which help me decide the location of the points and then I connected them with some wood sticks.
I was bad at doing handcraft and I think I have proved through the transformations. I like the last one since it looks very neat. I will do more research on ways to simplify things afterwards because I really enjoy it.
