My mom was expected to be out of the house until the street lights came on as a child and my grandmother never needed to know where she was. Growing up my mom refused to let me go anywhere without knowing where I was and it could only be to nearby friends houses. When I got older she asked why I never went outside anymore.

I started reading Oshi no Ko yesterday and I cant put it down.

I thought it would be a lighthearted reincarnation Manga with cute babies. Jesus, I was so wrong about that. Its a huge commentary about the world of japanese entertainment from Idols to TV, theater, manga, even streaming and vtubers. And it has an underlying mystery that keeps you interested and feeds you just enough crumbs to keep you interested but it never shows its full hand. Every time we learn something new, something else becomes a mystery.

I also just like the main male lead. He's so complex as a person, and he really questions his identity as someone reincarnated with his memories intact. I've read a few of these reincarnation stories before and they haven't touched this idea like the way this manga does.

Does anyone else have "AI art" sense?

Like, you look at art and can immediately tell if its AI or not because your brain just reacts a certain way.

I often look at art and if it is AI, I get a bad feeling in my brain and so far every single piece ive seen that makes me feel that has been AI. It's like... my brain can tell if there was any humanity behind the creation of the piece. Its all subconscious, I don't even realize im doing it most of the time.

Lineart practice

i decided i needed more lineart practice, so i took an old sketch and added lineart 3 different times to see how im doing. They came out better than i expected, i guess my biggest setback is in my sketching.

i forced myself to make art to get back into the groove of things. I present Chibidoki in all her glory.

I feel like im still killing it with the coloring, but i have a long way to go with the lineart.

I want to start experimenting with Vtubing.

Not like, wanting to make any money or anything. I just want to have fun streaming and use a cute avatar instead of my fugly face.

I did one stream a bit ago with Typing of the Dead (i had no idea it was a mature game so the stream was restricted) and i had a lot of fun. I used the Steam winter sale to buy a bunch of games i want to play on stream. The first one i want to do is TCG Store Simulator.

Ill try to link to my twitch later. I wont be able to stream on a regular schedule since i have a full time job.

Since I've realized that people younger than me have created autobiographical graphic novels, i figured i should try. I think I have enough interesting things about my life and family that i could make a good one.

I started by just drawing individual panels of important/interesting info that i'll string together later. Here is my first real draft of one:

I've been watching Ironmouse videos and I love when during her and Connors panel at AnimeExpo she made her face gigantic while begging him for Cinnamonroll merch. He's just a little guy with a giant anime girl behind him begging for plushies.

I've dabbled with streaming in the past, now I want to dabble a bit in Vtubing.

Nothing elaborate, just a bust and a few expressions. I think i would want to do it as a character, not as me. I don't like being me, so I like the idea of putting my voice to a different body and playing someone else.

Im talking to a friend who is a vtuber tonight, she's gonna give me some tips.
