i can study other artists all day and all my life. however, why am i not doing the same with my own work? exploring my own art to the same capacity as someone outside of myself? hmmm. idk. i feel an intimate relationship with what i create and seeing what can come of that is an interesting direction. become my own muse of sorts. study myself. the one that got away. 😂

i know others would/will tell me otherwise. yet, this is for me. the world doesn’t need saving, there’s nothing wrong. it is as it has been since the beginning. what is the world within myself? i need to start there, and art is opening up those dimensions and possibilities.

what can i discover within thru this medium, solely, as one? hmmm.

what's appropriate...

it’s interesting how history pans out. had hip-hop not inspired graffiti, would murals exist in the way that they do now? is that even in the scope? is it ever acknowledged for what it is? just random.

i see the direction of things and what connects with what. the dna of the culture shifts and the predecessors seem to be within a realm that keeps to a timeline and a place. yet, in terms of recognition and pioneering, one would think it should be in reverse.

the world itself is in reverse, so it’s no surprise. it’s just strange that what we save face for in the name of “acceptance” can actually be a lie and washes away the true face of what it is and the truth.

it’s not healthy to accept just anything without seeing the cycles and the patterns. what it does in an underlying sense. without that knowledge or having that information, what is can become an ulcer that will inflict invisible damage because turning a blind eye is the passive pacifier in the name of so-called “positivity” and “playing the game”.

it seems rare that people ever want the real in preference of the sugar-coated misdirection. inception works that way, i guess. give the masses an idea and if they take it, increase the dosage until it’s a hell of a drug. the most successful strategy in war is distraction.

continue fighting all the wrong battles and you’ll soon find out who’s winning the actual war. overview. take a step back and it’s always right in front. sensationalism is an interesting tool, though. it plays on the psychology of the human’s love for drama and conflict. as long as they oscillate between the two, they never give themselves a moment to see the bigger picture.

overview… eh. just things that i see. observations. that’s the beauty of image, many won’t look past it.

So many people cover-up things within themselves....

So many people cover-up things within themselves. They smile when they really need to frown. They “laugh” nervously when they are uneasy and uncomfortable. They try to make it “all right” so everything can be “perfect” and “fine.” We do this to be accepted. We do this because people guilt us into acting perfect. We fake perfect, so others don’t have to experience any unpleasant realities, because their life is just as fake as ours. If some people came into contact with anything real they would be shocked out of their minds. This phony life builds-up inside of you until one day you erupt like a volcano, and you don’t know why. But, some people don’t explode, they implode. They fake perfect until they disappear forever and become someone else’s version of who they “should” be. Either way it’s a total loss of life. You are lost because you have not been honest with yourself, and your life is largely unexamined and unexerted. You have to do some thinking and know who you are, and then you have to resist compromising your truth for the comfort of others. Don’t intentionally be rude, but be you. Some people will see you as an asshole because they don’t understand honesty, integrity and honoring oneself. Witnessing honesty frightens some people because they haven’t known authenticity in their own life. But really, your abrasion is the rub they may need to open themselves or at least cause them to think. In a world of sleepwalkers, an awakened mind is a teacher and a catalyst for new awakenings, whether they want to be or not. A moment of truth is very powerful. Instead of smiling to be polite, just frown. Instead of laughing when you are nervous or uncomfortable, just speak your truth. Instead of acting like everything is alright, proclaim it isn’t alright, and talk about your feelings! Honor your truth. Honor yourself. Be real. If you can honor yourself and be real about your discomfort and pain, then your happiness will be just as real. If you can’t be real and firm with others about who you really are, you will be doomed to a phony, plastic bullshit existence, where you only live for others. When you are real you can move through what ails you, instead of being stuck there forever in some sort of “Pleasantville” hell.
