Laura looked at the woman and studied her for a moment “I can do that without powers but…because those of us who have them, is not like having a gun or a knife that you can pick up and drop, it’s a part of us, is like if you suddenly lost a sense, they’re not just tools, they are part of us.”

         ‘ everyone loses something a part  of  them  with  age  .   the  color  of  your  hair  ,   innocence  .  ’     your  face  ,   your  identity  .    ‘  eventually  ,   you  will  have  to  learn  to  live  without  it  -  or  spend  the  rest  of  your  life  in  attempt  to  get  it  back  .  ’

“Sounds like you’re a little bitter you can’t have both, hm, Yelena?” he said, giving her a smirk of a grin. “Oh, yes, losing your powers on a strange planet is a common occurrence,” he added, his tone playful. “Have you not found a way to enjoy the company of others yet? You know, it can actually be quite nice having friends.” 

         ‘ why would i be bitter  about  having  something  i  can  lose ?  ’   she’s  already  lost  her  face  once  ,   yelena  doesn’t  want  to  become  one  of  those  girls  dependent  on  something  that  could  disappear  in  a  moment’s  notice  .    ‘  aliens  exist  ,   some  of  them  are  blue  and  some  of  them  are  called  norse  gods  .   people  must  learn  to  move  with  the  change  .  ’   nose  crinkles  ,   she  shakes  her  head  .    ‘  company  always  has  to  leave  eventually  .  ’

That was true of the men she’d known, too. Few men could finish what they started. “I see some things are universal,” Gamora said with a bitter laugh. It was no real surprise to her, though. That was how she knew men to be. “It certainly makes the job easier for us,” she noted. She nodded at her list. “They aren’t a bad bunch. In fact, I’d say they’re quite a good group to be stuck with.”

        ‘ oh yes. most are useless  creatures  .  ’   she  doesn’t  need  more  than  three  fingers  to  hold  up  how  many  men  she  trusts  .   it’s  not  a  lot  .   she’s  been  around  women  most  of  the  time  ,   it’s  how  she  prefers  it  .    ‘  they  are  not  annoying  ,   nor  stupid  .   it  is  nice  .  ’

It should come as a surprise to no one that Natasha has struggled in the past with the things that she’s done due to the abilities that she’s possessed. However, seeing a few of her fellow teammates rendered powerless, she can’t help but feel thankful for her abilities that she was taught. “For some it’s all they know,” Natasha murmured, not completely disagreeing with Yelena’s statement. They were much more prepared if anything were to happen. “The space seemed a luxury, no? I believe it’s only going to get more crowded.” 

         woman tsks her tongue, shakes  her  head  at  someone  who  was  once  supposed  to  be  someone  like  a  sister  -  or  mentor  -  or  enemy  -  and  these  days  ,   she’s  not  quite  so  sure  how  to  define  anything  that  has  to  do  with  natasha  romanoff  .    ‘  so  learn  something  else  .   there  are  no  earth  distractions  to  stop  them  now  .  ’   the  blonde’s  always  been  a  woman  to  prepare  herself  and  those  she  cares  about  to  the  fullest  .    ‘  tsk  .   perhaps  i  should  give  tony  some  words  of  my  mind  .  ’

Gamora hadn’t had any troubles with powers. Somewhere between having skills and just being strong because she wasn’t human had left her feeling exactly the same as before. “I agree,” she said with a small nod. “Anyone who isn’t trained in combat has no place starting any fights,” she added, though no one should be fighting here anyway. “Who are you camping with?” she asked curiously. 

         everything about yelena seemed to  be  double  edged  ,   for  sure  ,   she’s  had  her  few  good  deeds  -  but  double  the  bad  .   it  made  her  a  real  good  survivalist  ,   at  the  damn  least  .    ‘  the  amount  of  men  i  have  seen  ...  attempt  to  start  and  finish  a  fight  ...  well  ,   i  would  say  sad  ,   but  i  don’t  waste  emotion  even  as  small  as  pity  on  men  .  ’   ah  ,   yelena  ;   always  opinionated  ,   always  cocky  .    ‘  okoye  ,   carol  ,   and  brunnhilde  .   they  are  on  my  good  side  .  ’   for  now  .

         ‘ such emotional attachment to something  as  flighty  as  powers  .  ’   yelena  herself  preferred  ...  more  solid  things  .    ‘  learning  to  fight  or  point  and  shoot  is  far  more  capable  and  in  your  control  .  ’    a  pause  .    ‘  i  miss  having  my  own  tent  .  ’
