Listening to Drip-133's latest release "July 02, 2014" makes me feel like I'm swimming underwater and I can hear all the dolphins sing as the bubbles pop past me. Excellent summer jam for the wee hours of the morning.

The prolific emcee Jimmy V released "Look Who It Is" this past weekend.  The broken record-esque sample and tumbling beat create an ear-worm track for one of Jimmy V's best verses.  The second half of the tune features Quick, the Slow Mixer and Rellim is behind the production.  Find a back catalog of Jimmy V and Cats Kill tracks here and here.

Katzski released his newest mixtape today and it's as much an edm album as it is hip hop. In a lot of the tracks, the soft ambient textures juxtapose the modern trap pattern like in "Glamorous Amorous" (produced by Katz himself) which make a great pad for Katz's easy-going voice. Tracks like "Bassruns" feature Katz's personal lyrics and rhythmic play on words while "Party On the Internet", "YungSalvadorDali", and "Vocals N' Horns" are a little more traditional in production and internet gangbusting in lyrical content. The mixtape features a cast of producers and emcee's including Orbit Debars, Jewel God, Pure Kut, Thin Lips, Jimmy V, Slow Mixer, SativaHigh, Will Money, Culourz, and more. Stream Aphex Twin's long lost Caustic Window (1994) above.  Richard James and a few of his close friends had test pressings of the album and swore not to make copies of it.  In those twenty years, all except for two tracks have never been commercially released.  The original test pressing is being auctioned on eBay here.
