I have not seen the new season but I have seen enough spoilers to know what’s going on and I have some headcannons about Curtis and Shiro even though there’s barely any content for them whatsoever in the show
Okay so I guess I’m really doing this huh? Lowkey I love them already but that’s just because I’ve been headcannoning them a lot with my girlfriend and they’re CUTE.
- Their ship name is Chiro. Like the food.
- Curtis’ last name is Gale. That’s what I’m using until they give us an official last name
- Curtis is a nerd because we all know that’s Shiro’s type. He loves D&D and science and all that jazz
- Curtis will NOT let Shiro UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE join in on any war related things.
- “Honey please let me help Matt”
- “No. You’ve gone through enough turmoil, just relax. It’s our honeymoon. You’re not at war anymore.”
- Curtis is a generally happy person gets super excited when his friends achieve their goals. He’s a happy puppy boy!!!
- Curtis fell in love with Shiro for his bravery, yet staying true to himself and not letting the war get the best of him. He really admires this man.
- Shiro fell in love with Curtis because, look at him, he’s a puppy who needs love and affection. Plus he’s an encouraging person and pushes Shiro towards his dreams (as long as he doesn’t get involved in the war again) unlike Adam. (Yeah Adam was cool but Curtis, he’s the real guy for Shiro)
- They just clicked instantly. They had that chemistry like they’ve been talking for years before coming into the Atlas. Shiro’s never fallen harder for anyone. Same to Curtis
- Curtis gives me bi vibes. Idk. Could be gay or bi to be honest
- Curtis cooks for Shiro and eventually teaches the guy how to, but also slowly realizes the guy just cannot cook to save his life
- Curtis tops, he made the first move on Shiro because Shiro was too shy to say anything because ‘who could love a broken war veteran’ (sorry I had to add some angst)
- I feel like Curtis would be a good communications officer which means he would be talking to the planets and back at home base while fighting in the atlas and giving Shiro intel that way
- Curtis basically asked Shiro to show him around the atlas in private one day and they were being complete dorks when suddenly they turn towards each other and are face to face with one another. Shiro stands still, about to pull back but Curtis grabs his collar and kisses him
- Curtis is a dog person, Shiro is a cat person, they end up having a dog and a cat
- Curtis is more touchy than Shiro when they’re alone. Shiro likes PDA and Curtis often will playfully push him away if Shiro tries to kiss him in public
- They host all the get togethers with the paladins and new defenders of the universe and everyone loves it
- They both eventually adopt a baby girl because that would be really cute
- Shiro is the type to not make a big deal at a restaurant if his food isn’t up to par because he doesn’t want to cause trouble but Curtis has no problem walking up to the manager and politely asking them to fix it
- Lots of neck kisses to be honest
- Shiro is actually SHYER than Curtis. Unbelievable. Our alpha boy has found someone to top him. Whoops did I say that Curtis tops already?
- Curtis doesn’t baby Shiro, but he watches him to make sure his PTSD isn’t acting up. He looks for all the signs. He checks if he has shaky hands, if he’s distant, if he has any discomfort. She generally really caring and understands that Shiro may have a lot of mental scars that might as well match how many scars he has on his body
- Shiro actually…doesn’t mind this and thinks it’s super sweet As a result, Shiro is super open to Curtis about his mental stuff and Curtis listens to him. They’re really good at communicating
- Last but not least, Curtis and Shiro actually knew each other back in the garrison. Curtis always looked up to Shiro and always seemed to be a fan of his. Curtis though has always had a major crush on Shiro. So when he learns he is going to work along side the returned golden boy, he is ESTATIC. Shiro remembers him and is like “oh yeah you’re that kid that always congratulated me after beating a new record or doing something. That was cute.” Curtis looses his mind but only in his head and plays it cool. He thinks that Shiro won’t really notice him much, like like the garrison days (the guy was always busy) but no actually, because they’re working alongside each other Shiro takes the time to actually get to know people on his team, including Curtis. That’s how they click and the rest is history.
Anyways these are some thoughts and headcannons. I love them already okay I just wanted Shiro to be happy and in a way I’m fulfilling the hole of them not having much content but yeah- hope you enjoy!
