Fanfiction Appreciation Rec List!

In honor of the Fandom Fic Rec Days, I’m going to try to best to compile a list of some of my favorite works/authors! Fanfiction is a huge part of my life, and I can’t express how grateful I am to all the wonderful people who take the time to create their own stories. Despite the love for fanfiction, a lot of people (I’m guilty of this myself) don’t take the time to pass along that appreciation to the author themselves! But as someone who started writing myself a year ago, I wanted to make sure I took the time to say my thanks to all the wonderful people out there for all the hard work they put into the stories that have inspired me so much <3

Kuroko no Basket

The Fast Train to Kyoto (AkaFuri) by @courtingstars. I have to list this one first, since it’s definitely the #1 murderer of my heart! It’s an AkaFuri friendship fic, and it’s honestly almost scary how well written and in character it is. It’s a complete eight chapter story, with a sequel in the works! If you ship AkaFuri, I cannot recommend this story enough! (And if you don’t ship Akafuri, I still highly recommend checking her writing out! Everything she writes is perfect,and she has a ton of fics for ships in KnB other than AkaFuri)

Loser (AkaFuri) by @heema-wren. Another wonderful Akafuri fic that 100% sold me on this ship. It’s eleven chapters, and incomplete, but it’s still a fic I go back and read over and over again. If slow burn and tons of mutual pinning between two idiotic teenage boys is your thing, than I have the hook up for you! (She also has a few AkaFuri onshots -and some smutty ones!- that I also highly recommend checking out!)

Designation Miracle Series (Multi-ship) by @umisabaku. This is easily my favorite AU that I’ve ever read?? And this is coming from someone who generally doesn’t like AU’s, lol. It’s a little dark, and revolves mainly around human experimentation. Everyone is perfectly in character, and background is so well-written that you won’t feel confused by jumping into it. It’s thirteen chapters, complete, and has several other works in the series that follows the same timeline. (She also has several other stories, including some beautiful fairytale AU’s that I love.)

The Lion’s Keeper (AkaFuri) by Melonnaise. I love, love, love this fic! It’s an AU where teenage Furihata is hired to be a caretaker for young Akashi. After a few years, Furihata leaves for college, and the two of them re-meet when Akashi is graduating from Rakuzan. It’s a super slow burn, and filled to the brim with sexual tension (that pays off in the end, shhhh.) It’s fourteen chapters, and complete! (And her one and only AkaFuri fic, I can’t believe this, lol)

*To save this from getting super long, I’m gonna call out some people who’s fics I love to read, or who first inspired/talked me into starting to write myself!

@cerberosthehellguard. One of the first names I started to recognize from the AkaFuri fandom! (Cerberos on AO3)

@shipthepuppy Another name in the AkaFuri fandom. They have ton of super cute AU’s! (ShipThePuppy on AO3)

@jubesy She has a literal ton of fics for the KnB Fandom, but my personal favorite is her “I do” series about Akafuri married life! (SharkGirl on AO3)

@seijuuroll-cake Literally a one-stop-shop for anything and everything KnB! You want some NijiAka? Here you go. How about an AkaKuro AU? Check it out! Tons of fluff, smut, and AU’s! (herdustisverypretty on AO3)

Attack on Titan

Again (Eruri) by Cherry. A beautiful reincarnation AU where Levi and Erwin live in different periods throughout history, but they don’t remember each other or their past lives until they see each other. Sometimes it ends in cute fluff, and other times in heartbreak. It’s eight chapters, and not complete, but it gives you more than enough to read it over and over again.

Black Dog (Eruri) by Stereobone. Takes place after ACWNR, and revolves around Levi dealing with his recent loss, and coming to terms with that fact Erwin might be the only source of comfort he has left. It’s six chapters, complete, and full of cute bits as well as tons of angst and smut!

Durarara!!

Sympathy (Shizaya) by @tastewithouttalent. This was one of the first Shizaya fic I read, and it stuck out to me immediately. It’s perfectly in character, and the plot is one that seems realistic for these two. It’s full of suspense and plenty of sassy banter! It’s eight chapters and complete, and I for anyone interested in this ship I recommend checking this author out! (I swear I’ve read all their shizaya fics like a dozen times each, it’s so good!)

*Side note: I NEED FOR FICS FOR THIS SHIP. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THESE TWO.

I apologize if I forgot anyone, but I think I managed to mention everyone who has somehow made an impact in my fanfiction life! Keeping doing what you’re doing (seriously please I need it okay).
