Important Life/Medical Update:

Under the cut due to medical and health topics. But I think I'm going to be okay. Thank you.

I found out I have breast cancer of some kind.

Sorry for being blunt. There’s no easy way to say that.

And please excuse the Notes App format across multiple social media platforms, I can’t have this conversation too many more times because it’s been a lot to process. And I’m not going to bring this up a lot moving forward unless there’s a major update or victory. It’s just important to me that this isn’t a secret.

I don’t really need anything in particular right now. If you’re reading this, I already know I have your love and support and I cherish it. I just wanted to share this update to be transparent and authentic with what’s going on in my life.

I won’t know the extent of it or how treatable it is for another two weeks- that’s the soonest I could get an appointment for some tests to learn more. :/ The wait is really hard. But I’m optimistic for the most part. I’m young, I investigated this as soon as I noticed it, and I have an amazing support system both on and offline.

…Don’t get me wrong. I’m scared shitless. I’m processing a lot right now and it will probably take me longer to respond to some things like messages or comments. But I have the privilege of access to many resources, and hopefully quick treatment. So I’m keeping my chin up as best I can.

I hope to see the end of this process with a renewed excitement for the life ahead of me. I am telling myself that this is going to be okay and putting in the work to make it so. <3

For now, I’m going to keep doing my best every day. I’m going to keep drawing and writing like before because that brings me joy.

If you see me around fandom spaces don’t feel the need to treat me differently, either! Just exchange a wave and a smile with me! Laughing and chatting with my friends about our favorite things are still bright lights in my everyday life!

And if your gut is telling you something in your body is suspicious, please don’t wait and get it investigated!!!
