Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
“Life is not a PG feel-good movie. Real life often ends badly. Literature tries to document this reality, while showing us it is still possible for us to endure nobly.”
The book didn’t impress me that much I guess it’s because I’ve watch the movie first before reading it. The book tackles about mental illness which is a very sensitive topic but Matthew Quick, the author, was able to pull out a lot of positivity. The emotions and feelings of every character are very true and real. The message of this novel is that in every cloud in our life there’s also a silver lining. The movie adaptation was really good and it’s actually one of my favorites. Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper played their role intensely. No wonder they have won best actress and best actor on 2012 Oscars.
