If it makes you smile, buy it or marry it.

I want this.
I either eat too much or starve myself. Sleep for 14 hours or have insomniac nights. Fall in love very hard or hate passionately. I donât know what grey is. I never did.

Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. Thatâs the kind of person thatâs worth sticking with.

You are the book that I want to read in braille, cover to cover.
I was riding in a van with a television crew who was doing a piece on HONY. The cameraman, Duane, was behind the wheel. At one point he casually remarked on how bad the traffic was in Ethiopia. "Ethiopia?" I asked. "What story were you working on there?" "It wasnât a story," he replied. "We were picking up our daughter. He then told me the most amazing story. He told me that he and his wife were not able to conceive. âBut Iâd always resisted the idea of adoption,â he said. âMy wife wanted to adopt right away, but I was just never sure if Iâd be able to fully love a child that wasnât my blood.â So time went on, and they remained childless. Then one evening Duane was watching a television show with his wife. The show was about aid work in Ethiopia. âThey were showing before-and-after photos,â he explained. âI remember this one girl. She was skin and bones. But she still had this amazing smile and spirit in her eyes. The aid workers rehabilitated her, and six months later, she looked like a normal little girl. Right then, I turned to my wife, and said: âIâm ready to adopt.ââ But it wasnât as easy as heâd hoped. âAt first I thought we needed an infant,â Duane explained. âI just couldnât imagine missing out on all those early moments of our childâs life.â But for healthy infants, the waiting list was years. âSo then we went we moved up to three or four year olds.â But still, the waiting list was one to two years. âThe only children you could get immediately were seven and up, and who had physical handicaps of some sort. I just didnât think I was ready for it.â But then Duane and his wife went on vacation. And toward the end of the trip, âafter a few drinks,â Duaneâs wife brought out a brochure from the adoption agency. One of the pictures showed an unsmiling seven year old girl, standing against the pink wall of an orphanage. She had been blinded in one eye. âThatâs our daughter,â Duane said. Three years later after the Watkins adopted her, Chaltu has blossomed. She has grown over one foot, is fluent in English, and although blind in one eye, plays soccer, gymnastics, and basketball. Sheâs doing great at school, and has tons of friends. âShe is the greatest daughter in the world,â Duane said. âThatâs an unbelievable story,â I told Duane. âCan I share it on HONY?â âThatâs fine with me,â he answered. Then he sort of stared at the ground for a second, shuffled his feet, and asked: âWould there be any possibility that you could help us raise the adoption fees to get her a brother? Weâve already found him, but arenât financially ready yet.â LETâS BRING RICHARD HOME:  Click here to donate!
