JOANNA NEWSOM, (”Divers”).
Captivating.
G R I M E S, (”Flesh Without Blood”/”Life in the Vivid Dream”).
World princess is back with a collision of power pop and modern aesthetic through the Grimes lense.
LORD HURON, (”Meet Me in the Woods”).
BEAUTIFUL album, a great success.
ERRORS, ("Slow Rotor").
2015.
GRIMES, ("Go" feat. Blood Diamonds).
I am not completely sold on the video but this track is so great. Yes, the chorus has a lot of "wub wub", but do you usually hear a "wub wub" track with such heart, such longing and beauty? Guess not. It's a shame she decided to scrap the album. Stay strong!
X PRIEST X, ("Sophie K").
HOORAY FOR EARTH, ("Keys").
FKA TWIGS, ("Pendulum").
Another great track from FKA twigs' LP1.
THE WAR ON DRUGS, ("Under the Pressure").
Fantastic album that came and went heavily unnoticed and under appreciated.
DARK SKY, ("Silent Fall").
An album that challenges you with how the artist reinvents rather formulaic bass music into something that he owns artistically.
GENT MASON, ("Eden").
Really fresh music for the new age.
CARIBOU, ("Can't Do Without You").
THE GO FIND, ("We Run").
IAMAMIWHOAMI, ("Blue Blue").
This mid-album song describes the album pretty well and where Jonna and Claes are going as the nordic music-witchery project iamamiwhoami.
ALVVAYS, ("Party Police").
Fantastic aesthetics, fantastic song, so very fitting for the breaking fall outside.
BEN KHAN, ("Youth").
ALT-J, ("Hunger of the Pine").
Their new album "This is All Yours" starts slowly but then crashes into a frenzy of songs with the power, electricity and certainty which Alt-J always hand within them. It's a bold record and follows the aesthetics of the previous band's efforts, a good listen.
