helloOoOoOoOo again, one & all! just me, ryan (h/h), here to reintroduce you all to a somewhat familiar face around these midasfm parts! though she may look different & have a dramatically different career than before, park byeol still possesses the same heart & soul. nowadays, she's the lead dancer, sub vocalist, & unofficial stan attractor of angelix; wielding a doll voice & an adorable charm beneath the limelight, but returning to her black cat glory at all other times. you'll find some information about her below & you're welcome to give her blog a gander if you have the time/space to do so! for plotting, please <3 this post & i'll reach out to you. discord is preferred, but happy to keep things on tumblr if necessary!

byeol was born in seoul, south korea to a financially stable family & lived a pretty ordinary childhood, all things considered. dad has a very high-paying job, mom takes care of the home, & later on, her older brother became a celebrity. altogether, a pretty sweet & comfortable existence. sure, she had some run-ins with people who didn't understand her, but her firmness never subjected her to any bullying. in fact, many of her peers considered her something of a bully to all of them.

her multiple runs as class representative / class president throughout elementary & middle school weren't well-received by her peers, & despite being on-top of things in other ways, they still excluded her; finding her personality rather mean-spirited & judgmental, instead of magnanimous & supportive. in retrospect, she understands why, but at the time, she hated feeling so ostracized.

she found her tribe in america after she moved there to study abroad, solidifying herself as someone who leads, & leads well, all while being lauded for her hard work & cleverness. she hated to leave after only two years there & fully intended to go back, but was scooped up by ydh entertainment shortly after she graduated. she was fast-tracked to a debut in angelix, & has enjoyed a rather lovely career that's spanned the length of an entire decade now. it's been ten years of performing aegyo & girlifying her every action, & though this more than pays her bills, she's wondering if she'll be stuck in this state of girlhood for the rest of time.

there is nothing park byeol loves more than satisfaction. this takes on many forms to her. whether it's enjoying the feel of wearing clothing that's been perfectly steamed, or piecing together a perfectly well-balanced meal, or landing a punch-line at the perfect moment, or even watching cleaning compilation videos that are perfectly manufactured to ease stress, she can't help but obsess over a job well done, & what's more is that she realizes that she needs to put in work in order to attain this same level of bliss over & over again, & she's often able to attain it due to how much effort she puts into literally everything she does.

if you couldn't already tell, she strives for perfection, & will stop at nothing to ensure that she gets as close to it as possible in all that she does.

people are sometimes shocked to discover that she's actually rather kind because she can be so harsh to herself; her self-critiques coming out in her self-deprecating sense of humor, or her ability to play a rigid 'producer' role for herself & her idol persona.

the people who are completely fooled by the sunny warmth of bitna are even more shocked to peel back the veneer to get a glimpse of who byeol is. you can walk up to her off-the-clock expecting to be greeted with aegyo & whimsy like the screens suggest, only to then receive a shy smile paired with a chilly aura & eyes that dig into your soul. oh, & don't be shocked if she tells you something is wrong with your outfit, or your hair, or if she gives unwarranted advice to you. it may seem rude & uncouth, but she's genuinely trying to be helpful.

she isn't trying to intimidate you, but often does by accident. if she aims to impress you, she often uses her power to win a person over knowing that, if she's allowed into someone's life, she'll stop at nothing in order to make it better / easier for them. byeol loves cleaning up a mess, especially if the mess is made by others. it's one of the many ways she proves herself valuable. sometimes this comes across a little strongly & she'll insert herself into your problems to help you fix them without you asking her to, but she does come from a place of good intentions with this, even if it's bothersome.

speaking of cleaning up messes, she finds herself attracted to men who aren't exactly perfect, despite her own desire for perfection. if he's an uncut gem, she'll gladly polish him into a diamond. there's 'i-can-fix-him' tendencies at play here, but above all, she realizes that her personality is best when she's able to lean on her meticulousness & resourcefulness. if on date two you tell her your favorite meal, she will learn how to make it perfectly for you & stun you on date 3. if you mention that your shoulders are hurting after a long day of work, she'll figure out how to massage the unease away. she's a laborer, even in her relationships, as she knows they take work to thrive.

this is extended to her friendships, as well. she gives strong big sister energy, even if she's younger than you are. byeol is the woman you go to if you have a problem. she will figure out how to fix it & help you in ways that others may not. she's fiercely loyal like that. if you earn her trust & love, you'll have a friend in her forever. she may make herself hard to get to know at first, but it's because she wants you to earn her loyalty & trust. she doesn't give it out freely.

she's not completely surprised to see her members at the event. while she wasn't told beforehand that they'd be attending, it only seemed right for them to be here with angelix's image and all. something about the color scheme of the event looks like it was ripped right out of one of their past comebacks, and hyorin can't help but chuckle at it.

she gives the other a smile at the compliment, though the credit goes all to their stylist. she's not dressed much differently from how she's always dressed at events like this. honestly, she's probably been styled like this one too many times.

"with how fancy this whole place looks, i'd be disappointed if the food wasn't good. i'm expecting a grand course meal starting with a bite-sized appetizer to a sweet dessert," she whispers before scrunching her nose in anticipation. this wasn't hyorin's first rodeo, and she knows there are other figures here that are probably a lot more important than some idols, so there's bound to be lots of good food.

walking over to the main event, she lets out a hum before nodding. "i did. there were some stuff just lounging around my apartment that i thought would be more useful in someone else's house," she comments. hyorin didn't offer up anything grandiose, but she had a few silverware that she wasn't going to use anytime soon. surely someone else could put it to better use.

"i'll keep my eye out for whatever seems byeol-coded," she says. "i think you'll probably know what my item is as well. if you've ever opened one of my cupboards, you would've spotted it."

"i hope you're right," byeol replies, her stomach growling directly afterwards, as if on cue, laughing at how it proved her point. "i think i'm still just sort of traumatized by the early days. it was always so heart-shattering and disappointing to show up somewhere expecting to be fed a luxurious meal, only to then be served iceberg lettuce, unseasoned chicken breast, and a few squares of watermelon for dessert." the thought of this causes her eyes to roll, grateful for the fact that, nowadays, she's largely the one in control of her own image maintenance and well-being. "good riddance, days of crash dieting. you'll never be missed!"

with that, she squeezes onto her group-mate's arm a little tighter, playful, as her sights scan around the terrace; bowing her head and smiling wide to the industry executives, artists, and other attendees she makes eye contact with. bitna is nothing if not respectful and kind, even if all byeol wants to do is go back home and pester her cat into snuggling with her for hours on end. though, realistically, she knows that wouldn't happen. odette would lift her nose up at her and wander away, queenly as always.

"god, don't say that... i've loved a lot of your décor and house-ware. knowing that, i'll almost definitely bid on something if i know it comes from you." she teases, but is being totally honest all at once. "that just means that, whenever you come over to my place, you'll feel even more at home. seems like a win-win to me." sighing, she looks over to hyorin. "you'll have to come over soon. i feel like i have to catch you up on what's been going on with me, and i wanna know what's going on in your orbit, too. pinky promise we can arrange a day soon?"

he's  never  really  given  much  thought  at  all  to  comfort,  has  he?  it's  a  bit  of  a  harsh  thought  to  contend  with,  a  stinging  sensation  in  the  center  of  his  chest  that  kiha  ought  to  set  aside  (or  crush  underfoot,  which  was  more  likely)  in  light  of  the  present  circumstances.  but  it  echoes,  like  a  ball  tossed  down  a  long  and  empty  hallway,  a  bounce-bounce-bounce  through  the  years.  from  the  semi-basements  of  early  childhood  to  the  tiny  one  bedrooms,  then  his  dorms,  and  finally  the  apartment  he  now  calls  his  abode,  kiha  has  only  ever  sought  a  place  to  sleep.  he  had  things,  and  he  liked  to  keep  them  at  his  home,  but  more  than  anything,  all  he  needed  was  a  roof  over  his  head  once  his  work  was  done.  he  didn't  need  much,  he  told  himself.  he  would  be  out  most  of  the  day  working,  anyway.

these  days,  it  seems  to  be  the  opposite.  blank  white  walls  are  not  nearly  as  decent  company  as  byeol,  and  he'd  best  not  get  too  used  to  whiling  the  day  away  by  staring  at  screens  both  big  and  small.  there's  character  here  in  byeol's  home  —  in  its  appearance,  the  furnishings,  evidence  of  odette's  presence,  even  the  reasons  she  had  chosen  this  place.

❝  well,  a  lovely  lady  —  ladies,  ❞  kiha  corrects  himself,  chuckling,  ❝  deserve  only  the  finest  of  houseguests.  i  can  only  hope  that  i  meet  odette's  standards.  may  i?  ❞  his  fingers  stretch  tentatively  toward  the  feline,  a  twitch  he'd  forced  himself  not  to  indulge  until  given  permission.  kiha  never  had  pets,  had  thought  it  cruel  to  subject  them  to  a  life  of  struggle  when  he  and  his  mother  could  barely  feed  themselves.  and  when  remedy  had  been  at  their  busiest,  it  seemed  just  as  cruel  to  neglect  them  but  equally  frivolous  of  an  expense  to  shell  out  for  a  sitter. 

now,  though,  perhaps  he's  found  a  way  to  deal  with  that  loneliness  problem.  or  maybe  he  should  just  focus  on  the  woman  in  front  of  him.

❝  oh,  god,  ❞  groans  kiha  at  the  turnabout,  head  in  his  hands  as  he  laughs.  he  forms  an  x  with  his  arms  as  if  to  ward  off  the  lyrics  before  waving  his  surrender  and  miming  a  full  kowtow.  ❝  please,  spare  me.  a  man  can  only  take  so  much  of  that  song  during  his  lifetime,  and  i  think  i've  far  surpassed  my  limit!  ❞  he  warms  and  wets  his  throat  with  the  tea,  humming  appreciatively  at  the  full  flavor.  he's  used  to  chrysanthemum  iced;  it's  a  nice  change  of  pace  to  have  it  fresh  and  steamy,  like  most  things  are  (will  be?  he  feels  like  he's  getting  ahead  of  himself)  tonight.  ❝  although,  i  guess  you're  right.  you  even  grabbed  my  wrist  and  everything.  i  did  make  you  wait  longer  than  ten  minutes,  though.  hope  it  wasn't  too  agonizing.  ❞

half-truth,  half-tease.  the  sight  of  her  amusement,  a  glint  in  byeol's  eye,  is  intoxicating  —  almost  as  much  as  her  scent,  the  warmth  of  her  palms  against  him.  kiha  finds  himself  chasing  almost  deliriously  after  it,  like  a  bloodhound  on  the  hunt.  anything  for  a  few  gentle  scratches  under  the  chin  and  words  of  praise,  anything  to  be  wanted  and  needed  and  held  (no,  not  by  arms,  he  thinks,  but  held  in  place).  his  knee  bumping  against  hers,  too  quick  to  be  deliberate,  too  pointed  to  be  an  accident,  is  another  thing  done  by  halves.  a  provocation  and  a  plea.

❝  gee,  i  wonder  how  far  the  similarities  go…  ❞  for  someone  whose  distaste  for  the  song  manifests  in  property  damage,  kiha's  letting  himself  dwell  on  it  an  awful  lot.  must  say  something  about  byeol  that  even  my  house  isn't  enough  to  put  him  out  of  the  mood.  ❝  are  you  secretly  going  crazy  too?  or  is  it  just  me?  ❞

the fact that odette managed to unveil herself at all while a guest is over is somewhat shocking, but upon further thought, byeol wonders if it's because kiha is the first man she's had over in quite sometime. watching him extend his hand toward the rascally ivory-colored persian, whose lightly-hooded eyelids make her natural expression appear rather cranky, elicits a warmth in her chest, but also a certain curiosity in her head. perhaps odette prefers the company of men.

"what a little minx..." she teases, voice barely audible with a flutter of delicate laughter following-suit. "i have a sneaking suspicion that she's going to start whining because she misses you now, and it'll add to the long list of things she does to purposely drive me crazy."

adopting odette wasn't an easy decision. her schedule is so busy that it felt hard to justify owning an animal, but after doing some research and hiring a pet-and-house-sitter, she decided to give it a go. byeol settled on a cat because, to her knowledge, they're much, much more independent than dogs. it's still important to be present for them, of course, but they're also perfectly capable of being on their own, which she honestly respects and relates to.

however, much to her playful dismay, odette is quite the sovereign, and a hellishly strict one at times. once she grew into the lady that she is now, she started asserting almost too much independence—treating her owner as a second-thought. byeol always jokes that her villa actually belongs to odette and she's her loyal attendant, and well, there's a reason for that. if kiha starts making himself at home here more often, he'll come to discover her ways, too. though, odette softening around him makes byeol wonder if he'll unlock a hidden, more affectionate disposition that she only showcases to him.

guess she'll just have to wait and see.

when the not-so-sweet creature decides to stop stealing the show, she nonchalantly scampers off, stowing herself away in one of her many favorite hiding places, allowing them more space to focus on one another, even if kiha is now grimacing at byeol's sudden cover of 'my house', all performed in her signature doll voice, no less. "don't you just love whenever life imitates art? you have to admit that, even though you hate the song, it's kind of what led you here." when their knees collide, it makes her yearn for more contact, and instinctively, she reaches up to rest a palm on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze; admiring its breadth and strength all at once.

he's so broad... she notices, all the more intrigued; enticed.

"believe me, love, you're not the only one," byeol assures him, cupping his jawline with her hand. "what's embarrassing is, i don't know if my craziness has been done in secret, but you know what? i'm fine with that." if her suspicions from earlier still hold meaning, she wonders if he needs a little bit of leading, a shining green light telling him to proceed. kiha seems respectful, like the type of gentleman that allows a woman to set the rules, and while she's appreciative of that, she hopes, in time, he learns that he can be bold if he so chooses to. either way, she's eager to get to know every side of him—... perhaps in more ways than one.

"all i can hope is that my obviousness is making you feel desired..." byeol lilts, then pauses, taking her time, "because you definitely are." her fingertips begin to motion toward the nape of his neck, weaving into his hair. her eyes lock with his and she waits for him to make a move, confident that he'll fully lean into her gravitational pull now.

𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆, @yourbyeol allure korea charity auction.

it only seemed right for hyorin to attend allure's charity event with her image and all. she's donated a handbag herself, something that she received as a gift a couple of years ago but don't really carry around, but she wasn't thinking about bidding on anything. she was mostly here because it was expected of her. plus, it was a free brunch, and she would rather have that over any nighttime event. this way, she could just head on home afterward and spend the rest of the day on her own.

she's gotten off the red carpet only to run right into the arms of byeol who's attended the event with her. she hadn't planned on sticking to her teammates throughout the whole event, but hyorin couldn't help but feel much more comfortable around them. while they weren't seated together, she still wanted to spend as much time with byeol as she could.

"you look cute," she commented before giving byeol a light pat on her head, gentle enough so it doesn't mess up her well-styled hair. "are you thinking of bidding on anything? i think if there's anything that would work with my apartment's interior, i might. but other than that, i'm mostly here for the food," she whispered with a light chuckle.

events like this are not a foreign concept to byeol. with angelix's concept being as whimsical as it is, and her own personal image being a carefully-curated branch off of the same mystical tree, appearing at a spring charity event is a no-brainer. dolled up in pastel hues, ribbons, and bows, she couldn't help but grimace when she looked at herself in the mirror after leaving hair and makeup.

it's bittersweet, really, feeling like the personification of an ornate cupcake as opposed to a real human-being donning a pretty dress, but she digresses. there's a part of her that can't deny that this type of attire suits her, her delicate frame not at all overwhelmed by the frou-frou accoutrements and high-femme silhouettes, she just wishes it was all more comfortable. why not a blush-colored slip dress instead?

regardless, she walks the carpet, offers the photographers saccharine sweet grins and waves, but is quick to escape their hollers, and glad to be greeted by a familiar face mere moments afterward. though, the compliment she's given makes her grimace again, and it only grows when her head is patted, but this time, her expression is playful. "oh, you know me... i'm just the cutest." she teases, not daring to roll her eyes, but dialing up the smile to unveil that she's being facetious.

"you look stunning though. i always love what they put you in. maybe one of these days we can trade places." she adds, taking a step back to admire her group-mate, laughing at her honesty. "you and me both. i'm sure there'll be some sweet stuff, but you know. it all depends on how it flows with everything else. i just hope the food here is good. i skipped breakfast in hopes of having a feast."

carefully, she links her arm with hyorin's and guides them toward the main event, leaving the flashes behind for now in exchange for the grandiose terrace at the four seasons hotel. "did you donate anything for people to bid on? i... may have, but i'm not telling you what it is. i'm sure once the auction starts, it'll be pretty obvious."
