Even though we cannot see God with our eyes, His presence becomes visible when His love is lived out through us. When we love one another, it shows that God lives in us and that His love is being perfected in our lives.
This love also removes fear. Perfect love drives out fear because fear is rooted in punishment and insecurity. When we understand how deeply God loves us, we no longer live in anxiety about our standing with Him.
The conclusion is simple but powerful. We love because God loved us first. His love becomes the model, the motivation, and the measure for how we love others.
Love is not just something God does. Love is who God is.
