You never expect it to be you. You don't see it coming. You'll never be granted the luxury of planning ahead. It just happens; the bad thing. And then after the bad thing happens, more might follow. I think there are some very hard but very sweet seasons when you can curl up in bed and shut out the world and tell Jesus that you need Him, calling His Name and asking Him to keep you safe, and He does. He brings peace. But I’ve found there are also seasons when that doesn’t work. And it’s not all because Jesus isn’t capable of comfort and rescue in those moments, it’s because curled up in bed isn’t where you need to be anymore. You need to actively seek. You need to get out there and live. You can’t keep finding peace in the same places. He loves us too much to leave us where we are.
