Song writing???

So I’m not much of a song writer. I know how to write poetry..sorta. But songs? Haha no. But recently my partner was put in the mental hospital and I haven’t been able to talk to them. So I want to write them a song so when they get back they come back to something that makes them feel happy. So does anyone have any good advice for writing songs???

Here's mine: I never was mad or jealous about my past partners cheating on me. I was more upset with the lies than them having intimate or emotional relationships with others besides me. And I often found myself faking jealousy to seem "normal" when in reality I didn't care. I genuinely thought that I just didn't have feelings for the person I was dating in the first place cause I was okay with them flirting with others. Now I realize I did genuinely like them and I'm just polyamorous lol XD Your turn :3

Oh to fall into a lovely fantasy world where all my comfort characters exist and I have to go on some elaborate and amazing adventure with lots of beautiful views and along the way come across new people and of course my comfort characters who end up joining me on the adventure and of course it wouldn't kill to add a little soft romance cause we live for that crap. And we better get to ride a damn dragon and sleep on the top of colorful, glowing giant mushrooms looking at the night sky that is absolutely peppered in stars. The warmth of the campfire, the laughter, the sounds of nature all around us. Aaaaaaaaaaa the yearning for a better, more colorful life than what I currently live is just- uggghhhhh
