CUPCAKES!

I don't have any pictures of the finished products because they were gobbled up so quickly, so that tells you something about them, eh? Everyone LOVED them, I couldn't be more more happy. They were soft, fluffy and most importantly, done all the way through. I did make an oopsie in overfilling the cupcake papers, so they kinda rose too high and stuck to the top of the pan; I had to scrape some off so that messed with the aesthetic, but no worries! Lesson learned!

My next batch will be absolutely perfect and then I can venture into...

(cue ominous music)

FIRST ATTEMPT AT CINNAMON ROLLS

I’ll start by saying that I’m dissatisfied with how they turned out, but I’m proud of myself for not botching the completely on my first try. I know where mistakes were made, and I know how to fix them next time. That said, they kinda burned...it was one of those avocado moments: not yet, not yet, whoops, too late! Also, I was probably not generous enough when I was oiling the pan. 

As far as taste goes, they’re okay. Dry, and hard and not nearly sweet enough, but okay. I’ll definitely be trying the again, and hopefully I’ll be more successful next time.

Hi, Tumblr!

Hey! So, I’m totally new to Tumblr (weird, I know) and as someone who’s usually uncomfortable sharing things online I realize that it could be a great way to express yourself and share your thoughts and attract people with similar interests.

I didn’t start baking until, say, 5 years ago, and it was on and off. Once in a blue moon I’d make a chocolate cake or banana bread and that’d be it. But there’s so much more I want to do now! I WANT TO BAKE ALL THE THINGS! So this blog will just be about my journey as a beginner baker...
