"Not always," He conceded with an expression that suggested his ego was suitably bolstered, "but I would hate to think of you being left unsatisfied." Setting the weights back down, Wyatt held out a hand in invitation to her.

essek   had   helped   with   the   baby   as   much   as   he   could,   mostly   by   being   the   errand   boy.   everything   that   the   others   could   think   of,   he   retrieved   —   which   for   caleb,   was   quite   the   list.   but   in   time,   the   stress   of   the   events   of   the   heirloom   sphere   caught   up   with   him.   he   became   very   sick   and   caleb   insisted   he   return   home,   saying   he'd   wake   him   when   he   was   done   babysitting.

essek   ended   up   sleeping   far   longer   than   he'd   expected   to.   when   he   woke,   his   partner   was   nowhere   to   be   found.   before   he   could   contact   him,   the   human   arrived   looking   utterly   exhausted.   essek   saw   to   any   remaining   injuries   and   made   sure   he   had   some   food   and   drink   before   he   collapsed   into   bed.   caleb   was   sound   asleep   in   minutes.   his   explanation   had   been   very   brief,   with   a   promise   to   tell   all   in   the   morning.

a   mix   of   emotions   swirled   within   him,   but   essek   did   his   best   to   content   himself   with   the   knowledge   that   his   partner   was   here   and   safe.   he'd   just   finished   getting   the   cats   to   sleep   when   something   magical   pinged   in   his   mind.   wyatt   was   no   ordinary   thief,   and   he   wouldn't   have   been   fooled   by   a   rudimentary   alarm.   however,   a   perpetually   hunted   man   was   very   paranoid,   and   his   wards   were   intricate.   once   wyatt   was   inside,   he'd   see   a   light   at   the   top   of   the   stairs   —   a   drow   in   a   thick   house-robe,   holding   a   lit   candlestick.

“    can   i   help   you,   sir?    ”        essek   asked.

wyatt didn't have grievance with caleb himself — no more, at least, than most of the rest of the mighty nein — he had simply ended up being the one who may most easily lead him to his true intended quarry. he would have been more surprised were the wizard not to have any sort of arcane protections in place, but he really didn't care too much about being identified — if anything, it might help his ultimate cause.

"ah," he mumbled under his breath, "the xhorhasian." as he often was, wyatt found himself grateful for the extensive research he'd instructed to be done, to ensure he wasn't completely on the back foot.

clearing his throat, the pirate pulled himself up to his full, towering height at the foot of the stairs. "good evening," there was a smile on his lips, though it couldn't exactly be described as warm. "my apologies for the interruption," there was no apology in his tone, "i was actually looking for a word with your roommate."

Georgia tipped her head, watching him carefully. "I'm more than capable of lifting a couple weights. Though I'm sure you could lift me with no problem at all."

His smirk blossomed at the comment. "Need me to prove you right, or d'you want to just use your imagination for a while there?" Wyatt grabbed a set of weights, raising a questioning brow.

The Mighty Nein had made their way off of Darktow well before Wyatt had been able to - but what the pirate had lost in time, he more than made up for in determination. Fjord hadn't left Jester's side, and Wyatt hadn't been able to track down Beau or Veth, but the wizard seemed to be a different story.

Wyatt waited until there was no movement visible from inside the building before quietly sliding a window open and climbing inside.

Modern verse

Wyatt is the leader of the Revelry, a powerful criminal organisation. As a kingpin within the criminal underworld, the Revelry is a criminal enterprise built around loyalty, territory, profit and control. The group is involved in smuggling, theft, protection rackets, illegal markets and other forms of organised crime.

Wyatt has deliberately cultivated a reputation as a visible and infamous figure. His name carries weight throughout the criminal world and beyond. His reputation comes not only from the crimes committed by his organisation, but from the knowledge that he personally seized power through violence and has the ability and willingness to enforce his authority himself.

He rose to leadership by challenging and defeating the previous head of the Revelry in a fight, killing the man who had previously ruled the organisation. However, while his reputation as an exceptional fighter and imposing presence is central to his image, his greatest strength lies in his understanding of power. He recognises that fear alone cannot sustain a large organisation.

He rewards competence, loyalty and ambition, often bringing exceptional individuals into his inner circle and granting them greater authority and opportunities. However, proximity to him does not mean complete trust. Wyatt understands that the most capable people around him are both his greatest assets and his greatest potential threats. Those who rise within his organisation are tested repeatedly through responsibility, loyalty checks and situations designed to reveal their true priorities.

Despite his reputation for brutality, Wyatt is not reckless. His violence is deliberate and purposeful. He prefers to intimidate rather than simply destroy, understanding that reputation itself is a weapon. Betrayal, incompetence and challenges to his authority are met with harsh consequences, often designed not only to punish the individual responsible but to reinforce his position throughout the organisation. Public examples serve as reminders that loyalty is not optional.

He is confident, articulate and capable. His ability to move between charm and intimidation is one of the reasons he inspires both loyalty and fear. He is a powerful leader who rewards ability and protects those who serve him. To his enemies, he is a ruthless criminal ruler whose ambition and violence have reshaped the criminal underworld.

In his view, governments and legitimate institutions often use power while disguising its nature, whereas he is simply honest about the systems he operates within. His organisation has rules, traditions, expectations and consequences.
