Quest 01 || Diane Goes on a Rampage!
The giantess hated medicine. But just as she thought she was to have fun with King and a friend they had made named Crowe, she had come down with a fever so easily just days after crashing on the island. The more delirious she became, the more vague memories of this happening when she was younger drifted in and outâŚ.. maybe she should take her medicine after all.Â
Reluctantly, Diane poured the tiny dose into her mouth. It took effect immediately but thenâŚ. although her fever went away, she started to feel woozy again, the fairy and the human blurred from her sight.
â âŚ.Huh? Darling? Crowe? Whereâd you goâŚ?â she asked even though she looked directly at the two, as the other two completely disappeared before her eyes. Diane slowly got up from sitting, turning her glazed over eyes in every which direction and began looking around for them. Did they go off to look for food for her? It was sweet, but she hated being alone⌠The giantess looked around helplessly before suddenly, her gaze fixated on the spot where the two stood, her face slowly twisting into a glare.
Giants. Fairies. Whatâs next, unicorns?
Outside of the Gods, in his world mystical creatures were patently the realm of fantasy books, silly little tales designed to entertain children and nothing more. But here in this strange world called Koi, things were different. Mostly because he ran into a legitimate, bona-fide giant and fairy on this disastrous island excursion. Crowe hates nature. He hates being outside. He hates being away from the creature comforts of home. He hates everything. This sucks.
And, of course, the giantess had to get sick, so they went to get medicine. Crowe looks at the tiny bottle pinched between her fingers, doubtful that itâll make a suitable dose for someone her size. He remembers potions lab back in school, how the professor would prattle on and on about adjusting dosages to a personâs size, andâŚ
⌠Down the hatch.
Crowe leans in, watching her expression morph from one of slight nausea to a full-on angry glare, glowering right through him and King as though they arenât there. Thatâs⌠not normal. Is that medicine supposed to do that? But what she says next confirms sheâs taken a one-way trip to crazy town.Â
The Sorcerer gives a sideways glance at King, rooted to the spot. Whateverâs happening right now, it canât possibly be a good thing. He raises his staff halfheartedly, watching the medicine bottle clink to the ground.
âWhatâs in this stuff, anyway?â he mutters, picking it up and turning it over to read the ingredients list.
â⌠Oh.â

Why he had gone along with this crusade of madness King wasnât entirely sure. Some might argue that simply being part of the Seven Deadly Sins was already enough to ensure that wherever he went even as a lone figure madness arose. Needless to say that with the fact that both Sloth and Envy were present all at once it was actually surprising that the scale of disaster was so... underwhelming. Survival under the forces of nature might be overwhelming to some, but to a fairy and a giantess it was the most common state of life. The same hadnât applied to the person they had made to join their group.
A man of few words Crowe was, and somehow King had got the feeling from him that heâd never make it through this on his own. He didnât like the thought of having to place trust in someone he didnât know under circumstances like this, but at the same time the part of him that was born to be the leader of his people made it impossible for him to let the other be without feeling guilty. Thus this odd ensemble had ventured forth, but alas already encountered their first struggle.Â
Diane was sick.Â
This fact alone worried King senseless. He had flashbacks to a time several hundreds of years ago where a young giant girl was on the verge of her demise from a fever, and he with no knowledge on treating anyone from her race. But just as back then it was a human who had provided assistance, and King could only watch Dianeâs reactions change for... the better...? No that wasnât it.
âD-d-d-darling?!?!â he burst out, repeating the word in a pitch that rose halfway through, and his entire face flushed into a deep read. As happy as he wanted to be to hear that word addressed to him, in this situation it only made him worry even more, and he floated up before the giantessâ eyes, waving his hand before them, but to no avail. Her pupils werenât registering his movements at all. âD...Diane? Hey? Whatâs wrong?!â he tried, worry rising, and then a sound down by the ground caught his attention. In an instant he was back down, hovering above the ground to be at eye level with the much taller male. âOh? What do you mean oh? Is there something wrong with the thing Diane drank?â And then turning back to the girl he yelled up. âDonât worry, weâll definitely find a way to get you better again!â
