It’s extremely important that I tell you all that this seal is doing the ‘banana pose,’ something seals do when they are feeling particularly happy and relaxed. This seal, looking directly at the cat, is absolutely overwhelmed with Good Vibes, something we can all related to.

Actually, while that is a cute thought, seals do the "banana pose" when on land to keep their fins and tail dry because otherwise they get very cold. While their bodies are thick with blubber that keeps their internal organs warm in freezing conditions, their fins have very little no fat on them as to keep them thin and efficient in the water. This seal is simply trying to dry their fins and keep them warm out of the water.
