Submission guidelines!
General
Please submit quotes verbatim (word-for-word as they're said in the video.)
Please include a link to the video you're quoting from. The link will be deleted when the post is published, I just want to vet videos myself and confirm the wording is precise.
When making a submission, please include the exact title of the video it stemmed from. Copy/paste it if you can. Be aware that commas and hashtags get eaten by Tumblr's tagging system and may break a title into multiple tags if you don't edit them out.
If you don't remember the specific video title, at least include the most distinct detail you can, e.g. "Markiplier (Mad Father LP)" or "Ludwig (one of his marathon videos i think?)". Anything helps.
If the Funny is in an on-screen action or in-game sound or something, please submit a screenshot or a clip. Don't submit quote or text posts where the punchline isn't someone speaking.
Please use the submission box if you can. You should be able to submit photos, videos, quotes and text.
If you can provide a timestamp for the specific part of the video you're quoting, please do. ESPECIALLY for long videos!
Quotes from other platforms (TikTok, Twitch, etc) are allowed, but only if they've been uploaded to YouTube in some form. If they've been uploaded by a third party (e.g. a compilation channel or a fan's personal channel,) please tag the channel that uploaded it.
Please tag the channel the quote was uploaded on and the main channel of the person you're quoting. Even if it's a solo Jacksepticeye quote from a CallMeKevin video, tag CallMeKevin. If it's a Shenpai quote from a VOD, tag Shenpai and Shenpai Streams. Etc etc.
Quotes might not be posted for a while, if at all. This blog only has one mod running it. I can and have gone several months without posting or checking the inbox regularly. Quotes are more likely to be submitted if you at the very least include a video title, timestamp and username of the person(s) being quoted.
Combo Quotes
Please submit combo quotes as normal text posts. I'll convert them to the chat format myself, since people can't submit in chat format for some reason.
If a combo quote involves someone with no YouTube channel, include their primary social media handle if applicable
Screenshots
When submitting screenshots, full screen high-quality screenshots with no progress bar are highly preferred. Screenshots can be caught on desktop without the progress bar by setting the video speed to .25 and timing it carefully. If this still isn’t possible, the progress bar will be cropped out
YouTube comments are allowed - but please submit them as screenshots!
Clips
Please keep clips brief, ideally no longer than 90 seconds. If they're longer than that, I may edit them down at my discretion.
Please don't submit clips with auto-generated captions. Submit them with handwritten captions (displayed as "English" not "English (auto-generated)") or with no captions at all.
