Tess: I'm mad I never ran into you! You weren't at the Paris fashion week, were you? Because if you were, and we missed out on going to eat our weight in macarons together, I'm gonna be even more mad. I am, I'm here! Let's cuddle by the fire with hot cocoa and macarons, and make up for all the lost times.

Shai: I was at the Paris fashion week, but it's fine. Fate clearly didn't want us to see each other. I feel like I was also too busy on this damn trip to run into you also. So I'm calling for macarons and cuddles now that we're all back home.

Skiing Lessons || Colleen & Shailene

Colleen was often the type to joke to put people at ease. After all, her success was in the fact - she was a comedian. Despite people’s polarizing opinions of Miranda Sings. So whenever she sensed that someone was nervous, her first indication was to crack a joke to make them smile and relax. She just wondered if it had landed with Shailene. Seeing her smile, Colleen hoped that was a good indication. “No pressure at all.” She reassured again just to make sure. Moving over to the bunny hills, Colleen’s eyes widened in shock. “No way in heck would I ever be able to.” She let out a laugh. “Oh, I was out with my boyfriend. Link.” She explained. “He’s a bit of a dork so I don’t know how to answer that.” She declared teasingly. 

Shailene nodded in agreement. “Even if I wanted to learn that.” She pointed to the guy doing a flip. “I would die.” She joked. She liked how easy things seemed to feel with Colleen. It wasn’t too often that Shailene felt comfortable around people that she didn’t really know. It was one of the many reasons she tended to do movies with people she’d worked with millions of times. But Colleen was a bit different. “Oh!” She laughed as Colleen joked about her boyfriend. “Well, that’s a very fair answer. I’m sure you’ll figure it out later.” She teased. Once they were at the top of the slope she nodded her head, getting into teacher mod. “Ok, so, I know you already know how to start. The trick is to keep the momentum going as you glide down the hill. Just follow my lead.” The woman leaned forward, pushed off, and steadily made her way down the hill.

Skiing Lessons || Colleen & Shailene

Colleen hadn’t done very well on the slopes, teaching Link. So, she hoped to get a little better so when it came time to teach Flynn. However far off that may be, she’d be a little better shape. That and she wanted to enjoy skiing a little bit more. Not she wasn’t enjoying it. But god, falling did hurt. Clicking her ski boots onto her skis, Colleen smiled when she noticed Shailene. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” She beamed. “I’m not that great and I got someone to ski who hasn’t been skiing in a long time. It’s all about faking it until you make it. And baby hills help too.” Colleen joked.

Shailene gave Colleen a small smile in regards to her response. It was a perfectly normal answer, Shai just worried that maybe just maybe she wasn’t the best teacher for the job. She wanted the other woman to have a great time skiing and just based on their previous conversation - potentially stay friends with her after. But she’d warned her. Worse case, there would be a lot of falling, right? “That they do.” She grinned as they made their way to the baby hills. She eyed people as they did tricks and sped down the slopes and smiled. It was really fueling her fire. “Who were out with earlier?” She turned her attention back to Colleen. “Anyone cool, or nah?”

Skiing Lessons || Colleen & Shailene

As Shailene adjusted the straps on her helmet, she craned her neck trying to spot Colleen. She’d promised the girl a lesson the slopes and hoped that she remembered enough about skiing to do the other woman some justice. It had been a few years since she’d been on the slopes but hopefully this was just like riding a bike. Once she spotted Colleen, she walked over to her and grinned. “You ready?” She asked as she sat down, putting her feet into her skis. “Full discloser, it’s been a couple of years and I’m not sure I’m as great as I pretend to be. Either way...we’ll do the baby slopes and take it easy today.”

Seriously? I almost missed my flight because I finished packing five minutes before I had to leave my house… I should probably take a page out of your book and keep a bag done at all times since I’m always going somewhere too. Do you actually not have a house, though? Like, did you just give up on that convention entirely because you have to travel so much? I’ve never done any of those things so I’m extra excited about it. I’ve only ever had a snow fight, and that was only once too. But I’m also looking forward to hot chocolate and hot tubs.

Oh my gosh. At least you still made your flight! We don’t need your trip starting out horrible late. I can definitely teach you how to keep a bag packed at all times. Not that it’s a skill or anything, but if you do have a house you aren’t going to want your daily items in the bag. That would get old real quick. I seriously don’t have a house. I usually just stay with friends or family or camp out wherever I go. I bought a house and was never in it, so I got rid of it for a more simple life. It’s kinda nice. I was dating a rugby guy for awhile and I lived with him when I was home, but it never really felt like it was mine when I was there. Maybe one day I’ll settle back into the house life. Hopefully the winter sports don’t let you down then! Snowball fights are always nice, but yeah - being in LA most of the time kind of limits snow activities. Hot chocolate and hot tubs are the best part of skii resorts.

I’m a singer and actor. So the shows I am doing are with my band. It is our last tour so it was kind of emotional last night doing the last UK date. As for being injured, not the best when I have dancing to do.

I feel like I should know this, I’m sorry that I don’t. Ah, I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully it was the perfect last show though.

Yes, let’s be cliché’s together. I guess it depends on what you’ve learned. When it comes to a new language, it’s easy to lose your abilities if you don’t have the opportunity to talk. But skiing? You never forget it. That’s a good idea! I’m up for it. Let me know when you have some free time!

Oh well, yeah. I’ve learned all kinds of languages and definitely don’t remember all of them. We’re lucky I can even speak English somewhat well. I will definitely let you know! I’m looking forward to hanging with someone that doesn’t need to be taught.

I’m so ready for it too. I’ve been too much pressed and busy these days, a few days of vacation would really be perfect. Shailene, you just made me want more to go. I love sitting by the fire, with my hot cup of tea or chocolate, my favorite way to relax. I can’t show you any tricks, I’m kind of bad at skiing, I can try not to fall on my arse but it’s a bad attempt. So if you can show me, whatever, please do so.

Have you been working on new things? If so, I’m super excited to see them! I’m also excited to actually try to get some one on one time with you. I’ve only been trying for years. Maybe some fireside tea and girl talk will happen one night on this trip? Trying not to fall on your ass is a trick. But I’m sure I can find away to keep you upright.

I’m not a snow person, I am much more of a summer, in the woods camping and boating sort of guy. I’ve been snowboarding once and it didn’t go well…so maybe you can help me. But i do know how of ice fish if we can do that i can show you how to do that? 

I feel ya. Camping and boating are two of my favorite things. I also enjoy surfing. It’s way up there. But skiing and snowboarding are a lot of fun. I’ll definitely try to help you out. What happened the last time you went? OH, fishing is always a good time. We can definitely find a spot and hang.
