Smart until infected with stupid

You think you're safe don't you? You are probably the responsible one in the group, perhaps even the mom friend. You are relatively smart but all it takes is one little thing to suck all your braincells out. It could be hanging around your fellow stupid friends, it could be being left alone, it could be having a bit too much fun. The stupid lives inside you and it just takes the right environment for it to show.

You're just an all around kind person who's a little too gullible. You are knowledgeable on weirdly specific trivia but a lot of common knowledge seems to have slipped you. You probably aren't the best at math but by god can you fix a flat tire. Everyone remembers you as a friendly person, you just might need to brush up on your reading comprehension again

You are just a feral little rat but we love that about you. Keeping you around is like keeping a raccoon on a leash, you're definitely very friendly with your friends though. Sephiroth stops when he hears Angeal call out for him, and turns around. The question makes him pause for a moment. He’s never really celebrated holidays. On occasion he’d been asked to show up for company holiday parties, but he had never liked those much. However, just spending time with Angeal? Well, he wouldn’t mind that.

“I have no plans,” he says, “I wouldn’t mind.”

“I don’t know... how to do that,” Sephiroth admitted. He’d known once, as a child, but any expression of undesirable emotion had been punished until he’d forgotten how to do it. That wasn’t to say that he didn’t feel those things, he just didn’t know how to handle it aside from pushing it down.

If she was trying to be any shade of sympathetic, she was doing a terrible job at it – the very way she approached the man she’d once swore to idolize and “follow to the ends of the earth” was more fitting of a wild animal than an old friend, a dangerous creature to be contained and left in the past.

“You’re making this so much harder on yourself than it has to be, Fair. I’m giving you the easy way out, just turn yourself in and stop running – if I call this in, they won’t be stopping to talk to you.”

And yet, even as she speaks on the what ifs, her voice a shade of faux placidity, Luxiere draws her sword as well, a precaution. “Look at you, you’re not well – weren’t you in my place once? Wouldn’t your life been easier if Angeal or Genesis just listened to you and gave up? I just want to help you.” And herself to a promotion.

Zack had never much liked Luxiere. She had always come across as someone who would do anything for a promotion, including stabbing others in the back. And well, it would appear that he had been right about that.

If things had been different, if Shinra hadn’t betrayed him so thoroughly... If he hadn’t lost his mentor and one of his closest friends, if he hadn’t been treated like a lab rat for years, if he hadn’t been dragging the comatose body of his best friend across the continent for months... He may have been in a more agreeable mood. He still wouldn’t have turned himself in, but he may have tried to get Luxiere to understand.

Now, though? His patience had worn thin and he had none of that optimism that had once been so central to who he was left.

“Over my dead fucking body are you taking us back there,” he gritted out between clenched teeth. He unsheathed his sword and held it in front of him, showing that he was ready to fight her if it meant protecting himself and Cloud. The blond was resting against a rock behind him, and Zack had put himself squarely in front of him.

His eyes narrowed, anger boiling inside of him at her next words. “Don’t you fucking talk about them,” he practically hissed, “You don’t want to help me. You just want a fucking promotion.”

"Oh?" Aerith smiled as she leaned forward a little to gaze at Cloud's troubled face. He wasn't as hard to read as he probably thought. She had seen through that "tough guy" facade of his pretty quickly.

"Well, if that's the case... tell me what's on your mind. Hopefully I won't disappoint!" Her smile turned a little playful at that, though she really did hope that she could help Cloud with whatever was bothering him.

"You will do what I say, or else…"  -- luxiere > zack, she's definitely getting promoted if she catches zack, right?

"Or else, what?" Zack is not easily intimidated, nor does he have much to lose at this point. He stares Luxiere down, hand on the hilt of his sword to show that he is more than ready to let this come to blows if he has to. He has no intention of letting himself or Cloud (especially Cloud) get re-captured.
