Hey friends! It is the middle of final grading season for me, so I saw the announcement on the main and in the group discord about the rp closing but I had literally no time to post in discord or anything. But I wanted to say that I’m probably leaving these blogs as they are, and I’m happy to rp with anyone who wants to as an indie sort of thing! I love my children and I’d hate to just put them away for good. So feel free to message me or something if you want to write. If you want to reach me outside of these two blogs, you can find me on my personal tumblr (thelostgirlwrites) or on discord (kaymarie #1129). And of course, you can always message me here!
“I do love my books, but I prefer you.” She smirked and snuggled in close to him. The feeling of his skin touching hers was always something that soothed her. “I am. I promise, I’m alright. I know you still will, but you really don’t have to worry.” There was no stopping him though. The blind certainty that Alex, Asclepius, had always taken care of her was another comforting feeling.
“I must admit, that’s a relief to hear.” He smiled at her, keeping his arm tight around her - as much for his comfort as hers. Seeing his wife sick was not a pleasant thing. “You’re right, I’m going to worry no matter what you say but I’ll try to hide it better. Are you sure you won’t go to the doctor? Just to set my mind at ease?” Absently, he twisted a strand of her hair around his finger and gave it a gentle tug.
“You’re the best guy she’s ever been with,” Adrian shrugged, trying to act as if the admission meant nothing. Ellie meant a lot to him, even if he wasn’t always keen on admitting it out loud. The fact that Alex seemed not only to make her happy, but actually treated her right, earned him more respect from Adrian than most people received. “Not that the others set the bar very high.” @yuxalex
Alex nodded, glancing down for a minute at his hands. It was hard to keep from gushing about Ellie, and especially when he couldn’t gush about the truth and had to settle for their current lives and incarnations. “She hasn’t had good luck, from what she’s told me, but I don’t plan on making their mistakes. I love Ellie too much to let anything jeopardize the relationship.” That had been the truth since their first meeting; she had always been the most important thing to him, and that would never change.
When Ellie’s eyes adjusted and settled on her husband she smiled up at him and let out a soft sigh. He always knew how to find her right when she needed him most, even when she didn’t realize how badly she needed him in the moment. “Don’t be sorry. I’m never sorry to see you. I’m tired, but okay.” Grabbing his hand, Ellie pulled Alex down to sit next to her on the bench and set her book aside in favor of paying attention to him.
“Well, I would hate to interrupt you during your favorite pastime,” he said but he let her pull him down to join her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder as he leaned in to kiss her forehead. “Are you feeling all right other than that?” He didn’t like to worry unnecessarily, but she’d been acting odd for a few days now and he was starting to get anxious about it. If it kept up, he was going to insist on taking her to the doctor.
“Who’s a lovely boy, oh yes, you are! You’re a lovely boy, aren’t you?” Melody didn’t usually gush over anything, but she did have a fondness for animals. They were just so much better than people, so when she’d seen the dog wandering down the street by the park alone, she just had to stop and check on him. “Now just who do you belong to, lovely? And why would they ever let you out of their sight?”
“Apollo!” Alex had made the mistake of taking both Apollo and Lily for a walk at the same time, without Ellie there to assist, and without buying a new leash for Apollo - he’d got hold of his and used it as a chew toy at some point in the recent past, and so when Apollo lunged after a bird, it broke completely, leaving Alex to chase down the puppy with Lily running at his side. “I’m so sorry, he’s mine -” Alex dropped to his knees beside them, reaching for Apollo’s collar and trying to swallow his exasperation. “I forgot that I needed to buy a new leash for him.”
Ellie had her nose buried in a collection of Edgar Allan Poe’s work as she lounged on a bench in the city. She had been up all night long, simply unable to get any sleep. Her legs had been restless and her head ached, and when she did manage to drift off she had nightmares and otherwise weird dreams. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but she thought losing herself in reading might help. She was in the middle of one of her favorite passages when a shadow passed over her page, making her look up and squint at the person nearest to her.
Alex had been well aware of his wife’s restlessness but there wasn’t that much he could do for her and she had consistently told him to go back to sleep whenever he checked on her. So as soon as he finished his other responsibilities for the day, he went in search of his wife, spotting her on a bench. For once, he had left the dogs at home as he went out and he was glad for the opportunity to focus on Ellie for the time being. He didn’t mean to interrupt her reading and offered an apologetic smile as he sat next to her. “I’m sorry, Ellie. How are you feeling?”
Alex Yu | 30 | School Nurse // Asclepius, God of Medicine
Hello, everyone! I’m Kay, finally making an appearance (I was in a wedding today and since Wednesday, I haven’t even opened my computer because I was gone all night, every night). Here’s a bit about me, and information about Alex and Asclepius comes below that.
First, I’m 28 year old first grade teacher. I love my kids with my whole heart, and rping is my way of relaxing after the stress of a full day of teaching. I’m usually lurking when I can be, and I get discord notifications on my phone so I can almost always be reached at some point.
And now for the boy!
Asclepius:
Son of Apollo and the mortal princess Coronis. The princess died in childbirth and Asclepius was raised by the centaur Chiron, growing up to become a renowned healer.
He was such a good healer, in fact, that he learned to raise the dead. Zeus didn’t like that much, and killed Asclepius but eventually brought him back as a god with the understanding that he was not to use his gift to raise the dead anymore.
Asclepius was married to Epione, the goddess of soothing pain, and they had a good number of children, most notably Hygeia.
Alex Yu:
Alex is the son of Ivan and Catherine Yu, a surgeon and real estate agent respectively. Catherine is also the reicarnated Princess Coronis, although she is unaware of that. They lived in Phoenix, although Catherine always wanted to move further west. When Alex went to college in LA, his parents relocated as well and still live in the city, although they give Alex his space.
Alex followed in his father’s footsteps and went into medicine, although a less lofty field. He currently works as a school nurse, although he’s working on classes when he can and has ambitions of going into something a little different.
He met his current wife and was immediately drawn to her, although he didn’t realize at first that she was the reincarnation of his godly wife - and in fact, didn’t realize he was a god himself. Over the past few months, Alex came to know who he truly is, and who Ellie truly is, although he doesn’t remember much beyond that.
Alex is a polite and friendly man, but very introverted - his friends are always trying to get him to go out more but he would rather be at home with his wife.
He and Ellie have two dogs - Apollo, an Australian Shepherd puppy, and Lily, a German Shepherd.
The sound of Asclepius’ voice made Epione smile brightly and glide through their home to where he was standing. “Well, I am the punctual one.” She laughed before draping her arms around her husband and pulling him close. “It’s about time. I missed you. How were your travels?” She was genuinely interested in hearing how they went, but at the same time there were more pressing matters that she wanted to attend to. She pressed a kiss to his jaw and then to the corner of his lips.
His arms settled around her easily, as they always had, as if they had been made for this precise purpose. “I don’t mean to be late,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead. Her question distracted him and he began talking, full of stories and memories to share with her. He would never cease to be amazed at the things mortals accomplished with so little. But his voice trailed off, as it became more clear that she wasn’t particularly interested in the stories. Not at the moment, anyway. “Do you wish to hear my stories now, my love? Because if you do, then perhaps you should refrain from kissing me while I’m trying to tell you.”
Epione and Asclepius had both been travelling recently, helping their mortal devotees as they both often liked to do. They both always wanted to help and spread their knowledge. They were never apart for long though, and had both returned home from their travels eager to see each other. Epione had gotten home before her husband so she swept through the dwelling on Olympus, placing fresh flowers all around and smiling as she worked. She even hummed a little tune, listening for the sound of her beloved arriving.

Much as he hated separation from his beloved wife, Asclepius felt duty-bound to look after the mortals and offer help as he could. With such tutors and knowledge as he had available now that he was a deity, he could do much good on the earth, and so he did it. But he was always happy to return home to Epione, and his footsteps were light as he stepped into their home. The evidence of Epione’s presence was everywhere - not just the flowers and the faint humming he could hear, but in the joy he felt. Home had a different aura when she was there. “My love? It seems you beat me here, as usual.” His tendency toward distraction meant he often arrived at home later than his wife. “But I do so love coming back to see you here.”
Asclepius was a hero and god of medicine in ancient Greek religion and mythology. Asclepius represents the healing aspect of the medical arts. He was associated with the Roman god Vediovis. He was one of Apollo’s sons, sharing with Apollo the epithet Paean (“the Healer”). The rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, remains a symbol of medicine today. Those physicians and attendants who served this god were known as the Therapeutae of Asclepius. X
Charisa grabbed the last bag from her car, wrapping the straps around her shoulder as she closed the trunk. As she did so, the straps fell off her shoulder and the bag dropped to the ground. The fruit fell out of the bag and began to roll down the hill. She cursed under her breath as she set the remaining supplies in the ground before she tried to run after the food. After about ten seconds of running, she decided to give up. She was already panting and she tried to brush her hair away from her face as she turned and ran straight into someone. “Oh! Sorry.” She breathed. “Just trying to get back up the hill so I can put my groceries away. Just– just trying to stock up.” She explained with a small smile. “Though… I lost a few items on the way.” She was nervous about the earthquake but she was trying to stay calm.
Alex had been on a last-minute supply run as well, although he seemed to be doing better with his than Charisa was. Laughing, he took a step back, holding a hand out in case she lost her balance. “No need to apologize. I’m in a hurry, so I wasn’t being as careful as I should have been. Did you get everything you needed?” He was sure he and Ellie had enough to last them for a full year, but he’d rather be overprepared than underprepared.
