Hello! I saw your art of a Sylus study. And it’s so pretty and gorgeous! I had been wanting to ask or get an opinion or advice. How do you go about drawing him or like study draw him? I have a character I really like and I fear my fanarts of them won’t do them justice. It may seem perfectionistic of me and I’m sorry if it comes off that way. I just really like the character!

I used a blur/squinting method to focus on the big shapes first, just basic structure and value, so I used a soft default airbrush from procreate for the base and refined from there. I usually start sketching things, but this really helped a lot to focus more on the base instead of paying attention to every detail! There are plenty of methods to learn how to understand the shape and facial structure better.
And no worries! I completely relate. When it comes to draw certain characters, i’m more used to 2D style and believe me when i say get extremely picky when i’m gonna simply from 3D. I’m still trying to find a balance.

A small advice! Don’t go crazy with brushes! Experiment and have fun. I tend to stick with 1-3 brushes only! And I spent years working only with one default brush on Photoshop😆 some people need a bunch of brushes for different purposes, but sometimes one is enough 💕

If I were in your place just starting out, i’d start by picking a sketchbook or going digital , whatever you’re up to, and just draw anything that you like—characters , outfits, expressions, even messy doodles. Don’t worry about making things “good” right away.
Consistency > perfection.
That’s what i did back then! I’m self-taught, so I recently got a course on Coloso to go back to the basics, because i have to fill a lot of gaps i wasn’t able to learn properly, but there are plenty of resources on youtube and very friendly beginner videos. And believe me, the basics, as painful and boring they can be sometimes, once you manage to learn how to play with that, you can literally do anything💕💕

His love is faith. A plunge into disintegration, to become something new. A leap into worlds unknown, seeking the tug of the heart through the dark.
It is a test of fates, to deem him worthy of what comes next. It challenges and sears. But it is sweet nonetheless, because the pain is shared.
Faith demands sacrifice. But Xavier knows that loving you is already the reward.
For that reward, he the wanderer beyond space and time.
Zayne: Worship
His love is when the beloved becomes god. When the world ends, and you are the last thing standing.
It is unchanging. Unmoving. Carved in stone.
After trials of loving you, Zayne does not seek reciprocation. His devotion is beyond requital. The act of loving you completes him.
