This architecture lets you experience the life of bees

Ever wondered what it’s like to live in a beehive? This aluminum installation in the shape of a beehive will give you an idea.

“The Hive” is a 17-meter installation weighing 40 tons designed by British artist Wolfgang Buttress and has recently been open to public in Kew, London.

The installation is integrated with natural sounds: you can hear the bees buzzing and ducks quacking, and the indoor lighting is akin to one of the real beehives in Kew’s Royal Botanic Gardens, according to the BBC. Its purpose is to deliver a “multi-sensory experience that integrates art, science and landscape.”

The work was initially created for the 2015 Milan Expo where it won a gold medal for the best pavilion architecture.
