max would have to be naive to believe that vecna is finally gone especially after the earthquake. there’s a gnawing feeling in her gut that tells her that this is simply the next step in his master plan ; that they have yet to win this war. another part of her , hidden deep down , worries that this is a war they aren’t going to win. she really should thank whatever higher power that is out there ( eleven ) for bringing her back to life. she ha been legally dead for two minutes. if she had been chrissy or fred or that random dude on the basketball team , she would have been another victim, another pawn in some larger plan but her life had been saved. what for though ?
leaning against a wall outside of the university , max knew that the party , her friends , would eventually find her here. eyes closed , it wasn’t long until she sensed another presence nearby , “ let me guess , something has happened ? “ opening her eyes, max simply raised an eyebrow , “ i could feel something at two this morning. we both know that this is only the beginning. “
