another year, another reminder that they had come out of the war alive. the memorial ceremony was long over and she had waited until the crowds had dispersed to deposit the bouquet of yellow flowers at the foot of the memorial honoring the fallen. when she spotted rose, she simply waved, and looked down at the ground. what could she say that hadn’t been said already.
( @zealous-rose liked for a starter! )
Rose hadn’t expected anyone else to stay behind when the ceremony had ended. In fact she didn’t expect herself to stay, but she couldn’t be around crowds at the moment. Hannah, though, was a nice alternative, despite the reasoning for their gathering. When she saw Hannah’s wave she carefully walked over to her housemate. “I think it was a good ceremony,” she stated. Then, without thinking, as if the words were yanked from her mouth she added, “Don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad one really, though now it has me a little curious.”
