the translators said it could be one of two different things and they brought it up to their japanese speaking friends and they said that the one they chose was the most likely???? because it fit better with the flow of the conversation

it was either something like that translation or “some people immediately stop having gender after dying” but they said that due to context clues the former was more likely. which is like.....god i fucking hope
