|| Mark & Duncan ||
“Rarely anything is said without some intention or opinion behind it.” Duncan stated, adding right after just to clarify somewhat cheekily. “Just an observation of mine, of people in general.” A humm was given then, vague and soft. “Comes with what I am. It is a common misconception that the dead tell no tales. The dead remember like no other and have many tales to tell.” He waited patiently as Mark went ahead to get the cigars he’d offered, hardly moving from the sitting position he’d assumed in the chair. He was comfortable, thus finding no need to move and this permanent state of death he was in had relieved him of the very human need to squirm and fidget. Mark would find him in the same place exactly as he’d left him, like a statue.
“Ah, Upmann. Very underrated in comparison to Montecristo. A real treat. Did you know that the brand had existed for almost one-hundred and eighty years?” He accepted the cigar and the cutter, expertly prepping it for smoking before he lit up as well. He let out the first inhale in a thick, heavy cloud of smoke, enjoying the fragrance at his leisure.
“Given your age, I will concede to you my friend.” Duncan spoke the truth, but Mark was in no position to speak his mind. It would give away his lustful desires and he had to constantly remind himself, he was a married man with a beautiful family. “Indeed, I have found that to be the case quite often. Although, do vampires consider themselves truly dead?” There had always been some debate on the matter and he figured the best way to know would go directly to the source itself.
Relaxed, the fae leaned his head back as he smoked the cigar, taking in the smoke and holding it temporarily before exhaling a cloud of it into the air. “No sir, I never learned much of the history of the different brands. Although I am sure it is riveting.” For Mark, it was about appearance and power. Not just the cigars, but every extravagant thing his family and him had. It meant he escaped and proved his father wrong. "What brought you back to Greywood Mr. Creed?"
