Regarding Weekly Planning
I was unaware that I had to post my plan every week on Tumblr, and as such, I had only posted one previously to show that I understood what sort of planning we had to do. My planning mainly involved a lot of post it notes stuck to my monitor and many MANY phone alarms and reminders, as this is generally how I schedule my life outside of college work too. This was a massive oversight on my part that I have no way to fix now, but still wanted to address since it had been brought to my attention.

Showreel Storyboard
Do your six stand the test?
I wasn't able to find the link to the Padlet mentioned in this brief. So I'm uploading here. I also changed from using text and line tools while marking up these photos and used my tablet and pen instead as it felt nicer to actually write on the photos instead.
Showreel using different software
Due to hard drive problems, I was having issues installing another piece of video editing software on my PC, So I decided to see how the free Video Editor software that comes with Windows 10 works. The Video Editor is incredibly basic and very VERY easy to use. It's easy to import the photos you want to use and drag them onto the timeline. It gave me the option to create a very nice looking title card and had a small amount of free music available for me to use too. While it gave me the option to add some motion to my images in the showreel, it didn't give me any options for transition between my images. Overall, it's a nice basic piece of software available for free, but it's not what I'm going to use for my final Showreel. I will be using the program I used previously, Cyberlink Powerdirector, as it's a program I've been using for years for basic editing and I'm very comfortable using it.

Portfolio Boxes
Portfolio Books
Print Sleeves
For my own physical portfolio, I would create a portfolio book using polyester sleeves, as these are a cheaper method of protecting my images from dust during storage, but will also protect my images during handling to ensure there is no discolouration. The sleeves have a crystal clear appearance, meaning there will be no reflection on the surface to distort or obscure the image.
Colour Management
What is gamut?
Gamut is the range of colours that a device can record or display
What is a colour space?
A colour space is the colour range that is displayed in a photograph
What two colour spaces do most DSLR cameras offer?

You will see an improvement in reds, greens and blues when switching to Adobe RGB
When you change the colour space in photoshop what does it do?
It will adjust the amount of colour that you see in the image
Name a larger colour space than Adobe RGB
Pro Photo RGB
What can happen to a digital image if you map colours to a really large colour space?
The image can appear oversaturated
Set up your camera to Adobe RGB colour space note where this is in your camera menu.
Does this display on your camera LCD screen?
I am using a Nikon D5100 and it does not display what colour profile I'm using on my Screen.
Set up photoshops working space to Adobe RGB Can you find out how you can quickly find out the working space in photoshop? Can it display anywhere other than in the edit >assign profile menu? You can find out the Colour Space being used on your working space in both the 'Colour Settings' and 'Assign Profile' under the Edit menu.

Methods for Photographic Printing
C-Type
A C-Type print, also known as a Chromogenic Print, is a tradition method of photo printing using negatives, light sensitive chromogenic paper, and a chemical development process in a darkroom.
A Digital C-Type print is developed in a similar way, but the image is transferred to the paper from a digital image using an LED or Laser light source, rather than from a physical negative.
These types of prints will degrade over time with exposure to light. While stored in darkness, some C-type prints can last for over 80 years.
C-Type prints have a limited range of paper types to choose from. Online Company The Print Space has 4 different paper types available for their prints
The Print Space
Giclée
Giclée prints are fine arts prints created with a an inkjet printer, using high quality pigment archival inks. These printers use up to 12 different colours in their printing process, which can help to achieve a smoother gradient and a wider colour gamut.
Giclée prints can last for over 200 years when stored in darkness.
Giclée prints have a larger variety of paper types to choose from compared to C-Type. Loxley Colour have 8 different paper types available on their site for Giclée printing

Task 1 - Degree Portfolio Requirements
Robert Gordon University Aberdeen
Robert Gordon would like students to submit a digital portfolio for assessment on Flickr. The portfolio should contain 25 images, and each image should be titled and be accompanied by a brief description. Edinburgh Napier University I was unable to find Portfolio guidelines for the Degree course at this University anywhere on their website, after searching for more information on the UCAS website, I was only able to find qualification requirements and a mention that portfolio guidelines are sent to applicants at a later date after submitting the application. The University of Edinburgh Like Robert Gordon, The University of Edinburgh want up 25 images of your work, but spread across three categories. Up to 10 images showing your development, up to 10 images of your resolved work, and up to 5 images which demonstrate your influences. Each of these images are to be accompanied by a brief description of no more than 100 words.

Showreel
For this showreel I wanted to keep it simple. It displays a selection of my favourite shots that will form part of my portfolio. For the transition I used a simple fade transition and the music was Royalty Free music downloaded from the website Bensound. This video was put together using Cyberlink Powerdirector 12, which is an older program I already had a licence to use from a number of years back. It's a simple and easy to use program to use and has been a favourite of mine due to it's simplicity.
Task 1 - HND Portfolio Requirements
City of Glasgow College Edinburgh College New College Lanarkshire A lot of the colleges I researched didn't seem to have portfolio requirements available to view on their websites, so I can only assume that these requirements are shown during the application process. An overview of the portfolio guidelines that I did manage to find are.

Shows a good variety of the work you've done
Shows a rage of different photography skills
Images are optimised in post production but don't have excessive manipulation
