Post from 2021.. I’ve been thinking about this piece a lot lately with recent… Technological Developments.

I miss when image gen was new and vague, when prompts spat out a surreal dreamlike idea of what you asked for. Because that vagueness was actually inspiring! Instead of just an already completed “polished” picture that exists to be looked at and forgotten, inspiring and motivating no one.

The fact that the weird amalgamation of the key words I put in was an image that made me think, and piece together and come up with something new, was really fun! And this is one of my favorite original pieces! And it sucks that image gen has evolved into the complete opposite!

I (foolishly) had a nostalgia for that inspiration a while ago and (naively) went back to the same site and entered those three words again (while being confused about a bunch of settings I don’t remember existing) and just got… what looked like a normal photograph. And was disappointed and uninspired. Image gen has simply advanced too far. Now it’s boring and complex. Now there’s no inspiration to draw from. Nothing interesting.

“Just use a better prompt” some people might say. I don’t want to! I want something vague. I want to look at an aesthetic mess and brainstorm what all I can make out of it, and then draw it! Myself! With my own hand! Because that’s what art is about!!

But yeah, I’ve just been thinking about that. A lot.

had a thought that if Niall doesnt destabilize enough to change shape, he may instead grow voidplumes on his voidskin. forcefully plucking them feels weird as hell, like... not painful, but the feeling of intense pins and needles like when your arm falls asleep. may or may not be arguably worse than pain LOL

I apologize for the second question. You see, given what ive seen of him, I assumed he had glowing eyes, so I was making like a "is he sans :)?" type of joke

LMAOOO well he does have glowing eyes but I managed to completely miss that or make that connection somehow-

Niall lore doodles for how he ended up missing so much of his body. (backgrounds from in-game captura bc im not insane enough to draw All Of That.)

he was into explosives even when he was younger. used that knowledge and such to defend himself and others when the Zariman got stranded. Around the docking bay when he was setting up a trap to keep away Void manifestations, one had come unexpectedly and set off the trap before he could get away. it got set off with him in the middle of it, and what was left of his body was flung out into the Void, seconds from death.
