Since I’m still ignoring Pottermore after being sorted to Hufflepuff, I went to The Capitol to look up my district. Book nerd much?! You bet!
Happy Mother’s Day, Ma!
“My thoughts are stars I can’t fathom into constellations.” Every time I write about my mother, it sounds more like a eulogy instead of a tribute. I want to celebrate Mother’s Day because I had a mother to celebrate. She may not be of this world anymore but that doesn’t mean I stopped being her daughter. “Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. And then there are books…, which you can’t tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal.” I can’t seem to find the words to say how much I love and miss my mother. Anyway, she’s the only person who it matters to and she’s no longer here to hear it. I still say it though, ever so often. “You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers.” It took me quite some time to realize how lucky, how blessed I am for having my mother. It’s not easy being a single mother. It sure wasn’t easy being mine. It wasn’t the ideal situation to be in as a kid but having her around was all the comfort and reassurance I needed to get through it. And I made it, a little scarred but still whole. “I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.”
This is how you steal a kiss.
Way to go, Kim Byeol! Hundreds of women would die to do this.
I got inspired, nay, jealous by this 9GAG post so I made my own Facebook cover. It's a bit bare and pixelated but it'll do for now.

Skins Series 6 Trailer
The gang will be back on January 23, 2012.
I watched this about two weeks ago. I really liked the manga and the anime so I was really looking forward into seeing the characters come to life. The Japanese have never disappointed me in their live-action adaptations of manga. Hana Yori Dango, Hana Kimi and Gokusen are just some of my favorites. But I guess there's a first time for everything.
I understand creative license and that not everything in the manga can be directly translated into the screen. Film and manga are two different mediums of entertainment and I respect how they both work. However, changing the ending of the film defeats the purpose of Ai Yazawa's story. The movie lacks character. The actors themselves don't have any. As one blogger said in his review, everything was watered down and it's kind of disappointing how it turned out.
There's a reason why the ending in the manga and anime is the way it is. We may not exactly know what it is but it's the mystery, the unanswered questions that make the story more compelling. At least, that's how I feel.
This is mine. What's yours?

This is my favorite from all of Jirka Väätäinen's work on "real life" renditions of Disney characters.
She's a Disney princesses but instead of being a damsel in distress, Mulan did the saving. She saved China. As 9gaggers would say... Asian!

Jirka Väätäinen decided to photoshop "real life" versions of several Disney characters.
Super cute video of the adorkable Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing What Are You Doing New Years Eve? Who didn’t like 500 Days of Summer?!
Merry Christmas!

I got the third book on my wishlist! According to Joanne, my secret Santa, the Bleach art books where out of stock. I love Shel Silverstein but I have never owned a copy of one of his books until now. I'm planning to collect all of them. This is a good start, don't you think?
