The greatest material gift I received on this trip to Colorado was from my elder hermano Ricardo Romero. Disarm the Police or Arm the People is a booklet published by the Colorado Committee Against Repression, El Comite in 1979. It tells the history of the creation of the police state and how it was created in order to protect the capitalists and their material wealth and repress resistance, specifically amongst labor organizers. It also publishes nearly 60 cases of police murders on Chicanos and Chicanas, stories swept under the rug in order to maintain silence. This booklet solidifies the importance of why we must not normalize the violence we face by the police and state. They're continuing a legacy that our elders struggled against. Therefore we must continue that struggle. The young man on the cover was 17 years old when he was murdered by the police in Texas. #disarmthepolice #chicanoresistance

In November 2015 I was blessed to discover I was carrying a life seed, a human spirit that held within them the ancestors of both myself and my beautiful partner. I began to write because writing is my medicine. It allows me to discover my truest feelings and develop a method to communicate them with myself and others. Dated at the top, you will find a series of writings that chronicle my journey. Included is Yo Soy Madre, a self-affirming piece on embracing myself as mother; Dispel the Shame to Set Our Bodies Free; Los Tres Espiritus: How to Maintain Balance; Santa Comida Madre de Diosas; Our Chords to the Earth Are Not Cut At Birth, a poem; and Soliah Sun: A Birth Story. 24 pages, black and white 8 1/2 by 11 collage style, with personal photographs included

Not only is the dude super talented in illustration, but he also documents the stories in Orange County that are unlikely to be told. This is a collection of Ex Punk Girls, each page profiling various Mujeres showcasing a beautifully drawn image of these incredible fictitious people.
