@zionslater
Ian gave a tilt of his head in a nod while he copied Zion's movements. It was easy enough, not far off from the typical moves he knew back when he used to fight more regularly. He became out of practice, though, so it was good to gain some recollection on how the basics worked. "Doesn't sound weird to me," Ian commented with a small shrug, before moving closer to Zion, allowing his mind to blank out any reluctant thoughts of fighting his friend. He refused to dwell on the fact that it was... really easy to tune out those thoughts as he curled up his fists and began to swing at Zion, aiming for points that would typically incapacitate a person if hit, but knowing he wouldn't get very far. Ian didn't really know what sparring meant as his moves were much scrappier than the name conjured. All he really knew was fists, kicking.
"Well... good then I think. All of this is kind of muscle memory for me." Zion murmured, getting into more of a defense position while he observed his friend. While his friend moved through the motions, he blocked most of the hits with relative ease. Though he did note how...rough they seemed to be. That was okay. He made a mental note to ask about it as they continued, humming softly when they eventually stopped. "How do you feel?" He asked at first, tilting his head slightly. "I wanna go again one more time if you're okay with that?" He added softly, observing Ian.
Oh, yikes. That wasn't very promising for the drugs he just gave Zion then. It almost sounded like he would need to take an entire pack for it to have any kind of effect, which just wasn't sustainable. "I mean, I guess it'd be nice to have a number if we need to prescribe you anything in the future. But for now, try what I originally said and see how the recommended dose works for you, then raise it up if it doesn't do anything."
Zion nodded slightly, moving to stand again. "Okay. Thank you." He said softly, pocketing the bottle. Then he moved to give Ryder a hug. "I appreciate it." He murmured softy, stepping away after a moment. "I think I'm gonna go take a shower and chill out." He said glancing up towards Ryder. "I'll see you later?"
It still didn't feel right to Ian, having Zion focus on him when he didn't have to, but he couldn't deny it felt kind of good that Zion wanted to... protect him. It was a foreign concept to Ian, other people wanting to keep him safe and verbalizing that to him, but not an unwelcome one. His lips pressed into a line, but he couldn't fight the smile when Zion teased him about his incredible strength. He went on to explain the ebb and flow between his umbra abilities and the abilities he'd honed on his own, how one helped the other, and Ian nodded along with interest. "The combination kind of makes you a powerful machine," he commented lightly. Ian moved into position when Zion went on to instruct that they mimic his actions, and got into his own sort of stance, out of practice and awkward from decades of disuse, but still a form of muscle memory. "Sounds good to me."
Zion shrugged like it wasn't really a big deal. "I guess so." He replied, not really knowing what else to say to that. He never really thought about himself like that either but...he could see why his friend would come to that conclusion. Smirking a bit while he watched Ian mimic him. Then he repeated the same thing a few more times with Ian until it seemed that Ian got the hang of the flow. "Okay. If you're comfortable with the movement now, you can test it on me. Don't worry about hurting me. Use as much strength as you're comfortable with for it. Once you get the hang of it with some strength in it we'll spar some. Yeah? Oh.. Uh, I'm doing it this way so I can give pointers if needed." He said standing straight up and locking his hands behind his back in preparation. "I know it's a weird way of doing things."
"Of course," Ryder said with reassuring smile, hoping it helped him, because he couldn't go on with having nightmares every night. Actually, his alcohol tolerance might help Ryder figure out what dose he should take. "Um, how much do you usually need to drink to feel something? Like liquor, not beer." It was an odd medical question, but Ryder had to start somewhere when it came to Zion. He had almost nothing to go off of.
"A lot. Uhm... I haven't actually counted before, just it's a lot. It's why even though you guys have seen me drink, you haven't seen me drunk." Zion replied, looking back up towards his friend. "Though I usually drink bourbon if that's any indication. Errr....Could always count how much sometime." He shrugged.
Who would you date on Heartopia?
"My boyfriend Trex..."
ok but what if Trex asked you to wear a skirt?
"Still no... I think he enjoys the way I dress already."
If you had the skills, which non combat job in the ship would you be most interested in having?
"I don't know? I kind of enjoy my job currently. So it's hard to choose something else."
Have you ever considered skirts?
"No... That's a good joke. You can paint my nails, can't get me to wear a skirt."
Fuck, marry, kill: Trex, Ian, and Ryder
"Fuck Trex.... Uhhhh.. Yeah that's all. Ryder and Ian are some of my best friends."
Do you think you'll ever be able to get along with Tori?
"I hope so. It would make life easier. Mostly for Trex, I went to talk to her to try and make peace. Just wasn't expecting what I got out of that conversation.."
How do you think people perceive you compared to how you really are?
"Uhh I imagine I come off maybe scary? Standoffish probably too. I'm nice and uh a little weird at times depending who I'm with. "
What's your favorite thing about Trex or something he does?
"About him? Hmm...It's adorable the way he scrunches up his face when I kiss his nose. There's a lot...It's kind of hard to pick just one thing."
Which crew member do you want to be better friends with?
"In general? Theo, he seems pretty cool. Don't really know why I didn't try befriending him prior. Arys is pretty cool too, I like her quips."
Would you ever get married?
"I'm not really sure. Maybe? I don't really think about the future like that. And right now the idea of that is a little scary to think about."
Do you ever crave Trex’s blood specifically, like in Twilight?
"No? That's weird. Also I'm not Edward."
Why have you been so annoyed at Tori lately when she's done nothing to you?
"...Done nothing?? Who the hell asks a person if they're going to eat their boyfriend?? What the fuck is that?? Regardless of my history as a blood drinker, it's not like I'm a cannibal. I can't help what my kind survives off of."
