it makes me so sad to think abt itachi’s first appearance in the manga. sasuke’s desperate rush to find naruto wasn’t just abt revenge—it was pure fear. he was terrified itachi would kill the only person he had left.

it’s like he was back in that night. he wasn’t just running to fight his brother; he was trying to make sure he didn’t lose anyone else. naruto was already everything to him and he didn’t even know it.

and i literally feel like that’s gonna haunt him forever. the day he loses someone else —especially naruto— the massacre is just gonna start screaming in his head all over again.
