As a late birthday gift for @msitubeatz , I redrew an old pic our ocs! The cousins ^^ 🐝 🕷 [you can find the previous version here]

Updating the character designs was a must, but I had a LOAD of fun making the image look all together more *exciting* than the previous version!

Characters:

Beatz’s oc Aryanna Wilde, 6yrs old (cross-whitemark fox) Ary dresses in yellow and brown stripes, and her nickname is Bumble Bee so that’s why I added bee imagery 🐝

My oc Vine Vampine, 14yrs old (bat-eared fox & red fox/rabbit hybrid) Vine has a pet tarantula named Karma, so that’s why I added spider imagery 🕷

The whole time I was drawing this, I was anxious about doing the background because they’re supposed to be in an arcade which would make the background really detailed, but that wouldn’t look right in the simple, character focused picture I was making. The background would have to be blurred or something and I wasn’t sure how to do that

When I was done with the rest of the drawing, I know I wanted to make the background look geometric and abstract, but still come off as an arcade. I was like “okay, arcades have a lot of lights, I’ll try these pulse lights” I adjusted their colors and they looked good! Next I was like “I’ll try putting random rectangles to simulate the game machines” and they turned out looking cool too! I added a few thinner ones for depth and variation and the background ended up finished real quick! 😅 thank goodness
