Before I begin we just want to thank the creators who took part - this was a fun weekend to run and we hope you had fun too, and that you enjoyed sprinkling a little bit of spice into our Zukka hotpot!

We stuck them in a sheet and added them up and it turns out over the course of four days between Friday 4th October and Monday 7th October, you beautiful people wrote 24,635 words in the comment box aimed at creators. That's an average of 102 words per comment!
We were really encouraged by the volume of comments we saw over the weekend and we saw a lot of happy feedback from authors and artists, so we really hope you all found it rewarding. Remember, even if you didn't win, your words made another fan very happy, and that's a good thing!

I just submitted my comments, I really enjoyed this. I did find out about this late I would've liked submitting something but I wouldn't have had enough time and I was already working on something else.
I was able to look as some pieces when the weekend first started but I was kind of busy this weekend so I got around to looking at most of them kind of late and there was so much to be devoured they were all so good.

Hi everyone, just wanted to provide a quick update! As it is no longer Monday (not even in Samoa Standard Time), we've closed the comment award form down.
The response to this challenge has been absolutely incredible; we've received 21 unique works for the AO3 collection and a whopping 241 (two hundred and forty one!) comments submitted for the comment award! We're not gonna lie, your response has absolutely blown us away! We were hoping you'd be enthusiastic but you really rose to the occasion and we're so grateful.
With that level of response it'll take us a few days to verify all the comments, so we're expecting to announce the winner of the comment award this coming weekend (12th/13th October) as well as a shiny masterpost of all the beautiful fanworks made for the event.
In the meantime, we wanted to expand on our earlier response when asked about running Zukka Thirst again in 2025 and open up a suggestion box! Some of you have already sent in some really helpful feedback we'll action, such as expanding the period of time for the comment award, but we wanted to get your thoughts while the event is fresh in your minds.
