Anaxagoras x G/N Reader (Mentions of Trailblazer (Stelle/Caelus) Might be able to read as platonic but idk. I use "You" a lot, so I guess.. second person? Reader wears a necklace.
A/N: ERM Hi so IDK HOW TO USE TUMBLR AND THIS IS LOWKEY MY FIRST FANFIC EVER.. Haha.. Also I've NOT completed all of Amphoreus, I'll actually riddle you this, I haven't even met Anaxagoras in the story yet LOL.. So PROBABLY (most likely) OOC ANAXAGORAS AND TRAILBLAZER... Uhm yeah! This also probably doesn't take place in the canon story, but also kinda has mentions for it? Idk.. what Im doing, so do beware!! This is honestly just something I randomly thought of... But I hope it's enjoyable (if I can even say that about angst?) MIGHT be a drabble idk
CW: Angst NO comfort(Very probably), death, mentions of bodily harm/ injuries (cause death) Mentions of war themes I think, Grief(?) OOC characters, perhaps trauma? Most likely grammarly wrong, Not proofread (I raw dog my fanfics), uhm and idk if Im missing anything so lmk if I am!!
WC: 1.2k (I think)
Imagine being a student of Anaxagoras and also someone who doesnt believe in the titans, so he holds you to a higher standing point because you don't have a blinded faith and also believe in reasoning and logic.
Now imagine the trailblazer (whether Stelle or Caelus) are also really interloped with you- being that you both are close and trust each other a lot, almost like best friends, but you do not know much of your backgrounds as they do, so you promise to seek out who you both really are together.
So while Anaxagoras is setting off to do his Chrysos heir duties, you wish him a safe return, not without teasing him, of course.
"Hey Anaxa!", You cheerily shout. He is obviously annoyed and lectures you about his name.
"How many times do I have to say its A-NAX-SA-GO-RAS. When are you going to get it right?", You merely just laugh, heeding his correction to no mind.
Instead, you preach that when the nova era (or whatever it is) comes, you both can defy the titans together when he returns. He leaves and you see Stelle or Caelus lurking around, you invite them to a conversation and also bid them good luck and wishing well for their safe return too.. But before they go, you hold them back, wanting to tell them one last thing. You bring your pointer finger up to your lips and cheekily smile with closed eyes at them. You speak in a whisper;
"Don't tell Anaxagoras about this... but just this once...", You turn around with your hands behind your back;
"I pray to the titans that time is on your side.",
While you are no believer in the titans, it surely wouldn't do any harm if you were to pray for your friends safe returns, would it? You pause, they wait for you to continue, but you don't. You turn around, smiling again, soaking in this view. They're happy, you're proud of them.
"For time is not on mine.", You softly say, almost a whisper.
They were so blinded they didn't notice your expression falling, lowering, the sky around you both darkening, their expression falls too. They lend a confused look, only to see something appear behind you, not the flame reaver, but something unknown. Neither of you are sure who or what it is. Perhaps the gods have come to take your life because of your defiance? You turn around, back facing them, as your stomach is impaled, blood seeping into your clothes as they scream and reach for you. They're too slow, too late. You're hunched over, grimacing in pain.
You tear your necklace off, the one that's built your character and is solid proof you worked to get where you are today, the one that people have seen decorating your neck more often than not. You've unconsciously stepped closer to the edge, blood drops falling to the ground, you drop your necklace as you look up to see Stelle / Caelus, smiling once more, drooling the necklace without them noticing, and slip off the edge. You fell and they crouched over the edge trying to grab you. They couldn't, they were too shocked, you fell too fast and they moved too slow, not enough, never enough, the both of you were never. enough.
You're dead and they don't know how to break the news to Anaxa, he was the one who cared for you most. After some time of tears falling and screaming left to deaf ears, they rub their sore eyes and notice your necklace. Picking it up, and pocketing it to keep it safe as they set off to finish this, once and for all. For you, for Amphoreus, for the Chrysos heirs and everyone who has been sacrificed. They must be victorious.
Once the battle ends and everyone's had their rest, the mood and citizens have cheered up slightly, due to the victory. Anaxagoras is looking around for you. Confused as to where you might be, he plays it off as if you were just pranking him. The city, no, the whole of Amphoreus needs time to be cleaned, to rid the world of battle scars and marks.
Caelus / Stelle knows where you last stood, seeking out for Anaxa as hes seeking out for you. They find him, and quietly ask him to follow them, he refuses saying he needs to find you before anything, but they're insistent, which confuses him. He decides to hold off on finding you and see what they need. They take you to where you last stood, where your final breath, and smile were last seen. He's confused, naturally. They start to apologize and his confusion turns into realization. Stelle / Caelus brings out your necklace, and hands it to him.
Oh. Oh. Anaxa's clockwork starts to move, he now knows why they were so insistent on him being here. You're gone. You're dead, and hes been searching for someone he'll never be able to see again.
Theres a silence that peers on . Stelle/ Caelus tells him theyre going to give him alone time, to grieve. You're not here anymore? What happened? What's the logical reasoning behind any of this? Hes met with silence as an answer. His mind wanders, farther than it should, he would seem insane to an onlookers eye, but there are none around him, not like he would care if there were any. Hes alone. Just like he was before you came into his life.
Hes left speechless. He remembers the last moment he had with you, in a delirious state, he starts to ponder the useless things.
"You can call me that stupid nickname, I'll be your Anaxa. You don't have to call me Anaxagoras anymore, Anaxa, anything you want is fine. Just come.. back to me." He whispers solemnly.
"You can bug me when im grading papers, when Im busy, we can match dromas onesies, just.. don't go. Don't leave me all alone." He mumbles. Grieving the fact that you are no longer with this world anymore.
