Our last RAD I wanted the team to bring in a tangible item that inspire them. "Beauty arises out of human inspiration" - Richard Dawkins. I also brought my team a designer notebook that highlighted the designers main attributes !!

For our 4th installment of 30 minute RAD week, we started collage books to work on once a month. This will develop our creativity, fashion knowledge, and composition! Not to mention, it is great for team bonding!! Wooot!

WEDNESDAY RAD


today we focused on good communication! i made little note sheets for everyone with tips on how to get people to read and act on your messages. with the change of many of our department managers this week, i thought it would be a fun exercise to role play a few different scenarios we come into contact with and how to best react in these situations from start to finish! for example, a DM wants to do a floor move so we need the visual team, VM and logistics involved.

#1 tip we learned! : always follow up! It helps keep everyone involved informed and accountable! -victoria

Rad today! To get a better grasp on the spring 1 trend, I had the team come to work today dressed in their version of the zen trend (or of main stage 2 or adrenaline, if they did not own a full zen outfit). I pointed out that though it's our job as stylists to convey the trends to the customers every month, but we should also act as customers viewing the trend and interpreting it in our own way. Fashion is always changing, but trends revolve and so do pieces in our closet, so although we can purchase new items to keep up with the trend, we can also use pieces that we already own to represent ourselves as conveyors of the trend! Today was our first RAD of the new year! I decided to do some research of various minimalist artists who had works relating back to our in store trends. Each team member then selected a piece and pulled an outfit that resembled the art. This was a fun new way to get inspiration and look at trends in a new light! Tana
