I’ve always wondered. What makes having a rape fetish any different from making sexy fanfics about a tragedy like 9/11 any different?
One is a sick tragedy fulled by rage and greed that killed thousands,
But the other is also a sick tragedy that effects every group of people every second of the day.
Hypothetically if someone put fictional characters into a setting of a real tragedy and made it sexy it would be sick and twisted no? It would feel like people where making fun of and making light of something people still grieve over everyday… right?
It’s crucial to address that both rape and 9/11 are terrible things and should be condemned irl. If someone went and wrote fictional characters into a setting of a real tragedy and made it sexy it would be sick and twisted, that’s certainly true. And same with a rape fetish. But you have to remember that both are being written in fiction and exist only on the internet where it’s easy to click off of.
Rape is disgusting but if it’s written with fictional characters and the author doesn’t like rape irl then it’s OK, I guess. Same with a 9/11 fic, it’s sad, it hurts people, but at the end of day, click off and take a deep breath. You can’t control people and what they write but you can control what you consume and how you react.
