The boar was right. People are good...!
I lost 2 rounds of “UNO” and won the last. It was so much fun!!
I know ded just went through a lot of shit, but I'm glad at the very least their souls at a ten now. Even if it was gained in the least traumatizing of ways. Here's to Mizuta hopefully getting better luck (and a proper friend) during these times.
[Agreed!]
…This boar’s empty sockets had the warmest gaze I’ve felt in a long time.
I hope he’s right.
.....!!!
I should probably get off the ground.
I have a headache, but I did get to eat.
So what would have happened if Ded went through the gate just out of curiosity?
[The Torii gate is an escape route :) Mizuta does not meet the requirements, however. This is the second* time they’ve missed an escape event - The first one was the cat.]
[*I rolled the cat event two days in a row but then I forgot to draw two days worth of that event.]
Kinda weird it’s only dark over there.
That’s one way to leave school.
[The reviews are in]
Really?
sorry to send a mun question but i swear its ahato mizuno am i remembering wrong?
[its Mizuta! Easy to remember bc it’s from Mizu-tako (giant pacific octopus)] [I have no idea if they’ll change that name if they ever do an English localization of the artbook that info’s in though] [Also I’m on mobile so apologies for no tags/any format fuckups]
[PREDICTABLY, mobile is doing a NEW FORMAT FUCKUP apparently!! That’ll teach me to stop answering asks on the phone!!!]

I don’t feel good
Did seeing the body of the dragon take away more soul? Just wondering, cause shouldn't it be ten? Or am I wrong in how soul works?
[Oh, whoops! It seems I forgot to write “soul -2″ in those images! But yes, seeing Hallway Dragon takes away soul. Because soul represents both physical and psychological health, events that cause psychological harm can take away soul without killing the player.]
[Actually, now that I think about it more, the psychological health aspect of the Soul stat is probably way bigger in general? Sure, a lot of events that take away Soul has a physical damage aspect to it, but if you die you just respawn in a fresh body... but regardless of that, dying has to be psychologically damaging. And your mind persists after a respawn, unlike damage sustained to your body... Not sure why I missed that, but then again I suppose it’s up to interpretation.]
So Ahato can feel happy/amused (and fear I’m assuming since that wasn’t on the list) but not mad or sad?
[That’s right! In Japanese there’s an expression we use to refer to emotional expression/range as “Ki Do Ai Raku”, which I opted to translate as Happiness, Anger, Sorrow, and Amusement. Ahato just had anger and sorrow stolen, so, like you said, they can’t get mad or feel sad about things. And as for fear, I guess the Twilight Town needs you to still be able to feel that one no matter what, because that isn’t on the list of Lose-able Emotions!]
[As further translation commentary: “Raku” was the hardest to get across; it’s separate from Ki (Happiness) in that while Ki is referring to more internally driven happiness and contentment, Raku refers to externally driven… positive emotions. So like. Even if you were missing Ki (Happiness), if you still had Raku (Amusement) you could still thoroughly enjoy, like, a Turf War match. You’d also probably be able to get a good laugh out of a comedy bit, or have fun jamming out to good music, so on. But you probably won’t feel anything at your best friend’s wedding or some shit like that. HOPEFULLY Ahato will not lose these two though and this distinction will not become relevant. God.]
[Of course, Ahato themself hasn’t figured out what they lost yet. Kinda tricky to figure out something intangible like emotions.]
